Object fell from inside scaffold tube – 5th February 2014 Traction No. 1880405

At some point in time while the scaffold was in use someone

placed the length of pipe in the scaffold tube.

What Why Message

A scaffold was being dismantled

within KG Flex

A horizontal scaffold tube was removed during dismantling and

was tipped vertical as it was

passed downwards.

During this task a 6” length of 1” steel pipe fell

from within the scaffold tube

narrowly missing a Scaffolder

working below

Under no circumstances

should anything be placed or

stored in the end of a scaffold

tube.

There is a significant

potential risk associated with

this practice with regard to

personal injury and damage to

plant and equipment.
