Dear Parents,
I have attached the summary of the recent survey on parents opinions about the school. At the bottom of th
excel sheet are pages for ES, MS and HS so that you can see the range of opinions about the whole school. I had
intended to keep the survey open for another ten days or so but so few responses came in during the last week
that it made sense to give you this information as soon as possible.
As you will remember, your opinions are rated on a six-point scale with 0 being an I Dont Know response
The result show the average point score per question (and of course, the closer the average to six, the bette
parents perceive that particular area to be), and then the number of positive scores versus the number of negativ
scores (with 6, 5, 4 equaling positive and 3, 2, 1 equaling negative).
I do want you to know that we take your opinions as represented in the survey with great seriousness. The survehas been discussed already at a full Leadership Team meeting; the results are now with the Principals and I shal
be meeting with them separately this week in order for us to discuss your thoughts in more depth.
It does appear that the experiment of doing this survey online not only saved paper but also generated a bette
response, especially in the Middle and High Schools. Of course, the more people who reply, the more reliable th
information is, and next year I shall be encouraging you once again to complete these parent surveys.
Yours sincerely,
David TozeSuperintendent
