Message from the CEO

Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to a new edition of our HR newsletter. We have just concluded the third quarter of this year, with the same positive performance in terms of profitability and growth over last year. One of the key issues we focused on since the beginning of this year is the conformance to a well-structured sales mix that matches the market requirements and achieves anticipated profitability objectives. This shall not be limited to our new launches only, but to a wide range of molecules from our rich portfolio of products. Attention to the sales and marketing function remains as one of our priorities to ensure an effective and sustainable drive of the business. We are being very dynamic and flexible to adapt to any developments in the existing markets; especially in light of the political and economical changes. We are still maintaining our criteria to establish and develop markets based on profitability and the potential for future growth. In this context, a detailed review and restructuring are currently in process for our Romanian market; with the intention to develop this market and capture a significant share of the growing pharmaceutical business in Romania. Moreover, efforts have been launched to explore new markets in Europe, South America, Asia, Far East and some other potential areas. This direction is in line with our future growth strategy; that entails widening the markets base and reducing the dependence on certain few markets. Another area of priority for us is the business development function, where we have taken some important steps to initiate direct contacts with various international organizations that offer promising opportunities; including in-licensing, out-licensing, contract manufacturing, among other opportunities. This past quarter has witnessed the revision and adjustment of employee benefits of the majority of employees below manager level. This revision was a materialization of the top management’s commitment towards improving employees’ benefits based on improved financial performance and results. In addition, such actions reflect the management’s strategy of sharing the achieved returns and benefits with those who participated in achieving them. The commitment in this regard is solid and continuous, and aspires for more enhanced performance throughout Dar Al Dawa. We believe in the simple fact that a satisfied employee will deliver quality work that achieves customer satisfaction and we ensure a practical and tangible implementation of this fact.

Message from the CEO

We are staring the fourth and last quarter of this year with strong dedication to maintain our positive performance, and we are confident that we will do every possible effort to achieve this year’s challenging target. We have started preparing the budget for next year, taking into consideration a reasonable and realistic growth that capitalizes on this year’s results, achieved improvements and new projects/markets established. This budget will reflect the anticipated growth in all targeted markets and the relevant market shares, while still maintaining the conformance to a proper selection of sales mix and profitable markets. Our budget for next year will also take into consideration our commitment to providing the necessary support and assistance to our major subsidiary; Nutridar, where our top management has encouraged the realization of possible synergies in some of the existing markets for the mutual benefits of Dar Al Dawa and Nutridar. I wish to conclude by ensuring that one of the most important objectives of this newsletter is to openly communicate with our colleagues in various locations and share with them the current developments in Dar Al Dawa, and at the same time encourage the feedback and comments from all colleagues towards the benefit and prosperity of our company.

Quality Assurance DepartmentMembers of DAD family

Quality Assurance is a wide-ranging concept covering all matters that could influence the product quality whether before, during or after manufacturing. Quality Assurance is the sum total of the organized arrangements made with the objective of ensuring that products are of the quality required for their intended use. Quality Assurance therefore including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) element along with other elements like the design of product and its development.

Accordingly, QA department is working systemically to ensure that GMP principles are well-adopted. This system is ensuring that production and control operations are clearly specified and written for the staff in the field, all necessary manufacturing conditions and the correct raw and packaging materials are available, areas are equipped with appropriately qualified and trained personnel, all suitable facilities and equipments are provided, all necessary controls on intermediate products and any other in-process controls are supervised and process validations are carried out to ensure that our products are consistently produced to the quality standards appropriate to their intended use.

QA department is continuously monitoring implementation of Good Documentation Practice (GDP) principles, in which instructions and procedures are written in an instructional form in clear and unambiguous language, all operations are well-documented in away enabling to trace the complete history of a process or a batch in a comprehensible and accessible form.

18www.dadgroup.com

QA department is ensuring that all satisfactory arrangements existed in order to assure the proper storage, distribution and handling of products so that quality is maintained throughout shelf life. This is guaranteed upon application of the requirements of Good Storage and Distribution Practice (GSDP).

The role of QA department does not finish after shipping and distribution of the product to the market, but it continues during the whole shelf life, in which QA keeps receiving any notes or complains from the customers and does the investigation to identify the root cause in order to take the necessary corrective/preventive actions which prevent reoccurrence of the problem. To assure the effectiveness and applicability of the quality assurance systems in all aspects and areas, QA department is implementing a regular procedure for self-inspection, and for quality review of different products along with HVAC system, water system and others.

In order to implement the concepts of quality assurance in DAR Al DAWA, a brilliant group in QA department is working hardly to set smart objectives and plans to implement the systems along with full cooperation with all other departments and sections. This group of QA staff is belonging to different sections; each is working cooperatively with each other. These sections include: Documentation, GMP inspection in plants/Warehouse and Finished Goods, Deviation Control, Process Validation and Quality Review.

It’s my absolute pleasure to be given this marvelous chance to

express my gratitude for this great organization represented by the

board of directors, our CEO and all departments.

I was honored to start working at Dar Al Dawa for more than 15

years ago; in this course of experience I have gained tremendous and

diverse experiences in the eld of sales and marketing. Aer I

obtained my Bachelor degree in Pharmacy from the University of Science and

Technology in 1998 I joined the forces of Dar Al Dawa as a Medical Representative in

Jordan market responsible for the northern area; during this period I have witnessed

a great deal of experience by dealing with doctors , colleagues and managers, and

managed to achieve a distinguished performance that allowed me to move forward

and develop within my company. By the year 2001 I was transferred to work in our

external markets, specically in KSA as a Medical Representative responsible for

Reyad area until the year 2005, and then I was assigned the task of supervising Oman

promotion team until the year 2007. During this period of time I have encountered

several challenges such as dealing with dierent medical rms ,Doctors from

dierent cultures and nationalities, and the biggest challenge was being able to

supervise a team of Representatives and drive them to achieve their sales targets.

Aer that I was promoted to be a Country Manager responsible for Kuwait and

Oman until end of 2010 in addition to this I was assigned to supervise the middle

territory in KSA until end of 2011.

Recently, during Q3 in 2013 my responsibilities expanded to include Qatar and

Bahrain in addition to Oman and Kuwait. With the directions of my management,

ank GOD, I was able to achieve a dramatic jump in sales to leverage Dar Al Dawa

among the leading companies in the region especially in Oman. Also we have

managed to register the majority of Dar Al Dawa products in the Gulf region the

thing that meet the demands of this potential and huge market.

I have faith in my company and I believe that we have lots yet to give, to hopefully

maintain and sustain our successful company.

ank you very much
