However it is only when she imprisons Roberto and is instantly given the opportunity to mete out justice in the way she wants, she finds herself faced with some truly difficult decisions associated with justice which brings her at a standpoint..

1. Should she use this opportunity to bring down Roberto and put him on death penalty or2. Should Paulina sacrifice the feeling of retribution and self satisfaction for a better and a peaceful future?

And as being the torturer, Paulina shows vulnerability which include -

Blurry sense of identity: Amidst the session with Roberto and Gerardo, Paulina starts to lose her ethical stance which leave her and the former torturers(Roberto) to be same.

Low self-reliance: Despite being the dominant character during the torture, Paulina is unable to rely on herself. Even though she is coarse and strident, her inner conscience and Gerardo's plea does stop her from crossing the extent of brutality (shows slow yet steady disintegration of her self-confidence level)

Locus of control: Being the one with a weapon and power, Paulina is in a delusion that the situation is completely under her control, making her egocentric at the cost of making her stand at a crossroad which could decide the definition of "justice" on humanitarian grounds.

As such, it seems unfair that, after going through so much, Paulina should have to sacrifice her only chance of exacting justice as she sees fit but can also seen to be just as it removed Paulina's myopic vision of justice and gave her the strength to attain justice not only for herself but for those victims who still cry in the darkness.
