HOW TO USE THIS DIRECTORY This Directory provides a guide to services in Chester County for older adults. It is prepared primarily as a starting point for seniors, their families, social workers and community groups serving older adults. The Directory is arranged by broad subject categories listed alphabetically in the table of contents. After the name of each agency, a telephone number is shown. While comprehensive in nature, this directory could not include agencies' addresses or a listing of every service of interest to older adults. Informal neighborhood organizations, specific churches and synagogues and most volunteer groups are not included simply because they are too numerous. ADULT DAY CARE Adult day care centers are community-based programs designed to meet the needs of functionally impaired older adults as well as to provide respite for their primary caregivers. The centers offer structured, comprehensive programs that provide a variety of health, social and related support services and serve congregate meals in a protective setting during daytime hours.
