1. e-Class (LMS)
1.1. Logging on
1. From the Intranet Homepage enter e-Class
into the search bar and select IT Training e-
Class LMS
2. Alternatively, open Internet Explorer and type:
https://bthtraineasy.com
3. Click the LOGIN link - located on the orange bar
4. When the ‘Login here’ Screen is displayed, enter your full
organisational e-mail address into the Username box .i.e:
[email protected] [email protected]
5. Type Password as Changeme.1 (this is a capital C, full stop,
then number 1)
6. Click the LOGIN button
7. You will be prompted to change your
password the first time you login to the
system. Your new password must contain:
One Capital Letter
One Number
One symbol (!*./&£)
8. Type in your manager's full e-mail address
and click CONFIRM

1.2. To log off the system
1. Click on the logout link on the top right hand
side of the screen, this will return you to the
home page.
2. Close Internet Explorer
or

1.3. Using the Home Page
Once you log into the system for the first time the Dashboard will be displayed as follows:-

1.4. The Dashboard Menu
If you are logged into the system clicking on the home page will ask you to log on again.
If you are in any other screen, clicking on ‘Dashboard’ will return you back to the main Dashboard where you can view “Training Due, Training Started, My Courses/Resources”
Allows you to view and select training courses.
This menu is available if you are a Manager and need to approve or decline training courses for staff members within the Custom Reports option.
The training report menu will allow you to run all training activity you have undertaken or have scheduled in the future.
This feature allows you to view all training you are booked onto and displays
This section is currently not in use but maybe used for
mandatory training in the future.
This section displays any classroom
training, e-Learning or assessments that are in in progress or
have been completed.
This section displays any classroom training or e-
Learning you that you have been
enrolled on.

the venue, room, date and time of the training course.
1.5. The Training Catalogue
The Training Catalogue is where you can view, request or book classroom courses and access e-
Learning courses. The Training Catalogue is split into four course categories.
• BTH Acute Classroom Courses – provides access to clinical systems used in a hospital environment e.g. MaxIMS, HISS, ALERT
• BTH Community Classroom Courses – provides access to systems used in the community e.g. EMIS Web, SystmOne, Community Child Health
• BTH E-Learning Suite – provides access to all e-Learning courses e.g. CyberLab, EMIS Web, G2 Authors
• BTH Essential IT Skills - provides access to training and assessment products covering the full range of the main Microsoft Office products
By clicking on one of the course categories for example BHT Acute Classroom Courses a full list of courses in this section is displayed:

2. Booking onto Classroom Training
1. Once you have clicked on the course the following enrolment box is displayed
2. Click ‘Yes’ to enrol and the course outline is displayed. Some courses can be self-booked and others are scheduled on a demand basis only.
2.1. Self-booking onto Training
1. Scroll to Training Schedule – courses that can be self-booked are displayed as hyperlinks i.e. ‘MaxIMS ADT - Classroom
2. Click the course and this will open the Upcoming Sessions page
3. Select the course date you wish to book and click the 'Sign up' link
4. Select the default notification type, 'Email Notification only' and then click on the sign up button
5. You will receive an e-mail confirming you have booked / requested a place on your chosen course. Please note: if you are booking onto an EMIS Web Community Course your line manager will need to approve your request before your place is booked, they will receive an email with instructions on how do this. All other courses will be automatically approved and booked.

2.2. Booking on to Courses that are scheduled on a demand basis
Some courses are scheduled on a demand basis and in this circumstance the Training Schedule section will provide the “System Access & Training Request Form”, please complete this with your line manager and return to the Health Informatics Education & Training team.
2.3. Enrolling on an e-Learning Courses
You can access an e-Learning course by selecting BTH E-Learning Suite from the Training Catalogue Menu on the dashboard.
The current e-Learning courses available are:
CyberLab/Rad Medical for Doctors
CyberLab/Rad Non-Medical for Nurses
CyberLab/Rad Read Only – to view pathology and radiology test results
G2 Authors – a voice recognition system used to generate dictated clinical documents
EMIS Web Level 1, 2 & 3 – a comprehensive e-Learning package which guides you through the functionality of EMIS Web Community
1. When an e-Learning course has been selected a dialogue box is displayed
2. Click on Yes to enrol and the course outline is displayed

2.3.1 CyberLab/Rad e-Learning
1. Enrol on the CyberLab e-Learning course (see section 2.3)
2. Scroll to CyberLab/Rad e-Learning Course and click the blue hyperlink. This will launch the e-Learning package in new window
3. Double click on the Go button
4. Enter your Name and follow the on-line instructions to complete the e-Learning and Assessment.
5. When the Assessment is completed, click on the X button to close out of the e-Learning programme and return to e-Class.
6. Click the ‘Exit Activity’ button to return to the Dashboard
7. Your assessment results will be displayed in the Dashboard

2.3.2 G2 Authors e-Learning
1. Enrol on the G2 Authors e-Learning course (see section 2.3)
2. Enrolling on an e-Learning course) Scroll to ‘Training Schedule’ and click the blue hyperlink – G2 Authors e-Learning course, this will launch e-Learning package in a new window
3. Follow the online instructions to complete the e-Learning and Assessment
4. Your Assessment results will be displayed on the screen.
5. Once viewed click ‘Return to e-Class’ to store your results on your training record.

2.3.3 EMIS Web e-Learning
There are three levels of EMIS Web e-Learning. View the matrix below for course topics and who needs to complete each level.

1. Enrol on the relevant level of EMIS Web e-Learning (see section 2.3)
2. Scroll to the relevant course topic and click the blue hyperlink this will launch the e-Learning package in a new window
3. Follow the online instructions to complete the e-Learning and Assessment. Your results will be displayed on completion of the course
4. When you have viewed the Assessment results click ‘Return to e-Class’ to store your results on your training record
5. Click ‘Click here to return to the course page

6. Repeat the process until you have completed all course topics relevant to your job role in the individual Levels.
7. Notify the IT Training team by clicking the relevant email links.

3. Booking onto Essential IT Skills Courses
The IT Skills Pathway provides access to training and assessment products covering the full range of competencies for users of the main Microsoft Office products, from basic through to advanced. To find out more about the IT Skills Pathway courses – select the IT Skills Pathway Overview of courses, if you know which level you require select the appropriate level which will provide further instructions on how to get started.
1. From the Dashboard select Training Catalogue
2. Select Essential IT Skills and either the overview or relevant level
3. Follow the instructions detailed within each level.

4. Viewing your Training
All training that has been requested or booked can be viewed in ‘My Calendar’ on the Dashboard
1. From the Dashboard click on My Calender.
2. Enter a date range into the ‘Start and End’ date fields, click ‘Refresh View’ and any training you have scheduled between those dates will be shown
3. All training you have requested or booked is shown in green.
4. Viewing or Printing Training Materials
Please note: You are not required to print any training materials for your training session.
To view or print any training materials:
5. From the Dashboard click the course under My Courses and Resources the course outline will display.
6. Scroll to Topic 2 – Training Materials or Topic 3 - Supporting Documentation click the relevant links to view or print the training materials.
7. When the file has been printed, close the window to return to eClass.

4.1. Venue Information
Maps can be printed for the following training venues:
Blackpool Teaching Hospital
Wesham
Moor Lane Mills Lancaster
Whitegate Drive Blackpool
1. From the Dashboard under My Courses & Resources click ‘Venue Information’.
2. Click the relevant Venue Link.
3. Print the details.
4.2. Cancelling a training session
1. From the Dashboard click the course you wish to cancel under ‘My Courses & Resources’
2. Under Topic 1 – Training Schedule click the link to the classroom schedule
3. The Upcoming sessions page is displayed any requested or booked training will be highlighted in green, from the 'Options' column heading, click the 'Cancel Booking' link
4. From the cancel booking screen, select the option 'cancel booking'
5. From the reason drop down list select a relevant option:
6. Click the Yes button
7. You will receive a course cancellation e-mail and your Manager will receive a copy of the same email.
4.3. Printing the Attendance Certificate
On completion of training a certificate can be printed.
1. Log into eClass with your username and password and confirm your managers email address
2. From ‘My Courses & Resources’, select the relevant training course
3. Scroll to Topic 4 – ‘After the Training…’
4. Click the ‘Certificate’ link, to open the certificate click ‘Review your certificate’
5. Print your certificate by right clicking and choosing ‘print’ or hover over ‘Certificate of Attendance’ and a print icon will be displayed.
