Quiz Worx exists to share Jesus with kids everywhere. Our usual method of doing this is through performing Biblically faithful, creative and fun live puppet shows. Howvere, due to COVID-19, we are unable to do our live shows. Yet we are excited to present the Good News through Quiz Worx Home Delivery - Bringing Clear Bible Teaching to You.

Each week Quiz Worx releases a new Kids’ Talk video which can be used as part of an online church service or family devotion time. Each kids’ talk comes with Activity Sheets, Game/Craft ideas, Discussion Questions and ‘Digging Deeper’ Family Devotions to help you share Jesus with the kids in your church and family. We pray this will be a blessing and encouragement to many kids, families and churches.

FOR CHURCHES:Here are some suggestions for making the most of the ‘Quiz Worx Home Delivery’ material as part of an online church service:

1. Pray

2. Ensure the kids and parents in your church have access to the activity sheets and......discussion questions. Feel free to offer these directly from your church website, ......attach them to an email to church families, print them out and deliver/post them, ......or encourage them to sign up themselves at www.quizworx.com/HomeDelivery

3. Play the Kids’ Talk video towards the start of your service, either by including in......your live or pre-recorded service, or by sending families a link to watch on YouTube.

4. During the sermon/teaching time for the adults, parents can encourage kids to......work on the activity sheets, and possibly craft (if they can work on this ......unsupervised).

5. After the sermon parents can lead a short discussion using the discussion......questions provided. Then families can play the suggested games together in their ......household or with other families online (e.g. via Zoom) and get hands-on with the ......craft activity.

2. Pray together.

3. Play the Kids’ Talk video – you can stream/download it directly from this google......drive or watch it on YouTube link that is e-mailed to you each week.

4. CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE: after watching the kids’ talk, feel free to......continue with any of the additional elements, in an order that works for you and ......your family.

5. Kids will enjoy the Activity Sheets which include colouring in, mazes, find-a-words......and other fun activities. There is one provided for kids ages 2-4, 4-8 and for ......kids ages 9-12.

6. Parents can use the provided discussion questions to lead a short discussion any......time after watching the kids’ talk.

7. Playing games together or with other families online (e.g. via Zoom) and getting......hands-on with the craft activity can help to reinforce the message of the talk (and ......should be a lot of fun too).

8. Families may choose to move right into the ‘Digging Deeper’ Family Devotions......during this time or choose other times later in the week to explore God’s Word ......further together (try and find a regular time that works with your family).

How to Use Quiz Worx Home Delivery

In this very special Quiz Worx Home Delivery Christmas show, we see that Jesus brings peace. This year might have been a really tough year but Christmas is a great time to remember that Jesus brings peace with God. And when someone has peace with God, they can have peace within themselves and peace with each other even when all sorts of hard things happen around them. Our hope is that our Kids’ Talk videos and accompanying discussion questions and ‘Digging Deeper’ family devotions will help you and your children to come to a greater understanding of the great truth that Jesus brings Peace with God. In part 2 of our “The Peace of Christmas” video, Michael explains that the peace Jesus brings is not a peace that means that nothing bad will happen. The peace that Jesus brings is peace with God, who knows us, loves us and made us.

1. When you think of the word ‘peace’, what comes to mind? 2. Even though our world and our lives don’t always seem ‘peaceful’, Michael helps us see

that the Bible promises a different and even better peace. What is that peace? How does it make you feel knowing that you can have that peace?

Family Devotions

How to use ‘Digging Deeper’ for the ‘The Peace of Christmas’ videos. To help you think more about the peace that Jesus brings, we have provided three devotions. We encourage you to read these passages with those in your household at a time that suits and use the questions to guide you as you talk about and reflect on Jesus this Christmas.

Devotion 1 – Read Isaiah 9:2-3 and 9:6-7

The Book of Isaiah was written around 500 years before Jesus was born! Yet, it spoke about Jesus!

1. The prophet Isaiah is speaking about Jesus here. Write down all the names Jesus is given and all the ways he is described. Which name/description amazes you the most? Why?

2. Read verse 7 again. How does it make you feel knowing that Jesus’ power is never ending and that by trusting Jesus we can have peace with God that lasts forever?

3. Have you felt the peace that Jesus brings in your life? How can you show that peace to others?

Pray

Thank God that he always had a plan to make a way for people to be at peace with him through Jesus.

Ask God to help you trust Jesus and have peace that lasts forever.

Family Devotions

Devotion 2 – Read John 16: 16-20 & 27-33

In this passage, Jesus is speaking to his friends just before he is to die on the cross. He is telling his friends not to be sad, but to keep trusting in him even when life is hard.

1. Jesus tells his friends that they won’t see him for a while but then they will see him. What do you think Jesus is talking about?

2. What do you think Jesus means when he says he has defeated the world? (v33)

3. How can knowing this give us peace in our hearts, even when we suffer?

Pray

Thank God that Jesus has already defeated all the hard and bad things in the world and promises that by trusting him, we can have peace even in our suffering. Ask God to help bring you peace in troubled times. Thank Jesus that one day he will return, and we will see him face to face, and know perfect peace forever.

Devotion 3 – Read Romans 12:14-18

In this passage, the apostle Paul writes about how followers of Jesus should relate to other people, even those who don’t treat them well.

1. Why does Paul say to ask God to bless and forgive people when they have wronged us? How does this make you feel?

2. Read verses 15-18 again. Now think of the people in your life. How are you going at living this way in your relationships with others?

3. How can you live at peace with others even when there are times that you might disagree or argue with them?

Pray

Thank God that he has forgiven us and made peace with us first through his son Jesus. Thank God that he has shown us how we can live at peace with others. Ask God to help you have peace in your heart and be able to live in peace with other people, even when it can be hard. Is there anyone in your life that you need to forgive or ask for forgiveness from? Pray for that person and ask God to help you make peace with them. If they are not a follower of Jesus, then pray that they can first make peace with God through trusting Jesus.

1. Peace with God Mosaic

In the video we saw that before Jesus came to Earth, people’s friendship with God was broken. There was no peace. But that all changed when JESUS died and rose again because He FIXED it. He made a way for people to be at peace with God by trusting him. In today’s craft, let’s think about this AWESOME news as we put together the image below!!

You will need:

• Scissors (Make sure to supervise or have an adult use them)

• At least 4 different coloured pieces of paper. Only need half a page of each

• Glue • Permanent marker/black pen or texta

Instructions:

1. Set aside one of the coloured pieces of paper to be the background.

2. Take the scissors and cut the other pieces of paper. Cut the shapes as crazy as you like. Desired size: roughly an adult’s fingernail. As we cut the paper, let’s think about how our friendship with God was broken.

3. Sort the pieces so they are in a pile with similar coloured pieces. Set aside for a moment.

4. Outline the picture (in materials) on the background piece of paper: a crown and two people. Draw the images as big as possible, so it is easier to put the paper in them.

5. Decide which coloured tiles you will use for each image. 6. Glue the paper into the outlines. It is okay if pieces of paper pokes outside the lines. As

we make the image, gluing the pieces back together, let’s think about how Jesus FIXED our broken friendship with God, giving us peace.

7. Outline with Permanent marker and write “Peace with God”.

8. ENJOY. Place somewhere that you can see so that this Christmas, you can be reminded that Jesus came to give peace with God.

2. How Many Days Till….

Christmas is COMING!! How exciting! We love to count down the days until that great one arrives. But do you know what is even better? We can have PEACE with God. And guess what? We can have it right now!!!

You will need:

• White, red, and orange piece of paper • Permanent marker/black texta • Pink/purple pencil • Scissors (Make sure to supervise or have an adult use them) • Butterfly pin

Instructions:

1. Using a circular bowl or plate as a guide, draw a circle on the white piece of paper. Cut out. Outline with the permanent marker.

2. With the red paper, cut out a hat to sit on top of the circle. (Tip: try measuring out a slanted square on top of a long rectangle) Outline with a permanent marker.

3. Next draw a smiley face on the circle, giving it some red cheeks to make it look real.

4. Around the edges of the circle write the numbers 1-24 as well as ‘Christmas day’ and ‘Today, tomorrow, and always.’ Starting from the left and going to the right, write them in that order. Set aside.

5. With the orange paper, draw two carrots (see picture for guidance). Make sure the carrot doesn’t cover the number and cut out. Outline with a permanent marker.

6. Inside one carrot write ‘Days till Christmas’, inside the other carrot write ‘Days till Peace with God’.

7. Using the butterfly pin, attach the two carrots to the snowman clock. 8. Place the hands in the appropriate spot and you are good to go. Now, everyday of

December you can be reminded how many days until Christmas and how we can have peace with God right now, by trusting Jesus

Game Ideas

1. Jesus Wants Us To….

Jesus brought Peace...peace with God. And this means that we can have peace within ourselves and peace with each other. To help us think more about this, let’s play a game that’s a bit like Simon says!

Instructions:

1. Choose one person to be in. Their job is to say “Jesus wants us to” followed by one of the four options and associated actions:

a. Have peace with God - point up b. Have peace with yourself - point to yourself c. Have peace with each other - point to others

2. The last person to do the right action has to sit down. 3. To make it a bit harder, have the person sometimes just give the direction. When

they don’t say “Jesus wants us to,” whoever does the action has to sit down.

2. Keep Up the Peace

Because Jesus has brought peace with God, we can have peace with each other. So, let's begin now! Let's work together. Your mission: keep the ball/balloon up as long as possible.

You will need:

• A space where you can safely throw a ball around • A ball or balloon (something lightweight makes the game safer)

Instructions:

1. Have everyone stand in a (socially distanced) circle. 2. One person starts by throwing the ball/balloon up. 3. Everyone needs to take turns hitting the ball/balloon to keep it up in the air. Use

your feet, hands, head - whatever works for you! But don’t forget this is a team game, so you don’t want to make it hard for the next person to hit.

4. Each person can take up to 2 steps from their original position. The same person cannot hit the ball/balloon twice in a row.

5. See how many times your team can hit the ball into the air before it falls on the floor.

6. If you have a lot of kids, you can have multiple groups and verse each other.

• An open space • Access to Spotify, YouTube, or CD’s • A speaker

Instructions:

Set Up

1. Find a space to dance in. If doing this over zoom, each person’s own space will work. 2. Collect a bunch of fun songs that kids can dance to. Check out the Quiz Worx ‘Rise

Up and Rock’ album on Spotify or iTunes!

Game

3. Choose one person to be the ‘Stayin’ Alive pal.’ Their goal is to keep dancing the whole time, trying to distract those who have to be still without touching them.

4. Put the music on and encourage everyone to dance. 5. Randomly stop the music. Every time the music stops, everyone has to stand as still

as they can, except the Stayin’ alive pal. 6. The person in charge of the music will try to spot anyone who is moving. Those who

are spotted are out. They can help find people who are moving the next time the music stops.

7. Repeat until only the Stayin’ Alive pal is alive. 8. To start another round, choose a new Stayin’ Alive pal and repeat steps 4-7.
