Cooperative Education: Applications
• The employers will see all applications and decide whom to call, interview, etc.
– Some start right away and others take their time, we are not always aware of when they have started.
• Some employers will be using the system more fully which can give us clues as to where you stand
in the process. What you might see next to your application (under APP STATUS):
– ….nothing (Still says “Applied”)…..
• The employers may not note anything in NUCareers (we encourage them to; but they might not)
• This could mean you might be contacted,
• Or it could mean they are not considering you at this time.
– “Not Selected for Interview”
• The employer has chosen not to consider you. You may not be qualified; or there might be too
many applicants more qualified than you.
– “Interested”
• You have made the first cut; the employer is considering reaching out to you
– “Selected for Interview”
• The employer wants to invite you to interview. Hopefully they will reach out to you soon.
– “Offer Extended”
• The employer has offered you the position (they might not use NUCareers to do this – but if they
do, the system will say this); you have 48 business hours to accept the job; if you do not accept
within this timeframe, the offer will move to the next candidate
