Nouns

A noun is a word that refers to a person, place, or thing.

Nouns

Common Nouns are words that represent the general names for persons, places, and things around us. Proper Nouns are words that name specific persons, places, or things. They are always capitalized.

A verb is an action word. It appears in every sentence. A verb tells us a time—past, present or future.

Action Verbs are words that tell us what the subject is doing and when the subject does the action.

Linking Verbs are words that indicate a state of being or condition.

Helping Verbs are verbs that help the main verbs express a special time or meaning.
