HOW TO APPLY FERTILIZERS ON THE PLANTS

1. Broadcasting. In this technique, simply scatter the fertilizer uniformly on the soil, but for best results, incorporate it into the soil.

2. Sidedressing. It is the application of fertilizer by placing in the soil mass where the seeds or seedlings are to be planted.

3. Foliar application. The fertilizer is dissolved in water and applied by spraying. This is widely used to correct the lack of essential chemical elements. The right amount of fertilizer should be sprayed thoroughly on the leaves or foliage of the plants rather than on the soil.

Nitrogen Fertilizer can be classified as broadcasting, by hand at planting or as side dressing. It is always best to cover it with soil.

Mobility Nitrates- Nitrates move freely with soil moisture. The mobility of nitrates is both an advantage and a disadvantage. Its advantage is that it enhances early plant growth.

Fixation Process - Mixing or harrowing soluble phosphorus fertilizer increased efficacy.
