Removing the Side Cover

• Remove the side cover by sliding the black release button downward and sliding the cover to the left

Side Cover Removed

• This is what the Dell Dimension 3000 will look like after the cover has been removed from the side

Removing Cooling Fan

• To remove the cooling fan, lift the green cover to expose the fan

• Pull the black release backward and slide the component to the left

• Unplug the cord that is connected to the motherboard

Post Cooling Fan

• This is what the Dell will look like after the cooling fan has been removed

• The cooling fan is responsible for keeping the processor and the computer unit from over-heating
