How to sit an assessment

Enter the Assessment Number and click the ‘Load’ button.

The pupil login page now appears.

The pupil enters their details.There are checks on the Last Name entry as for the First Name. The date is also checked so that invalid dates such as 30 February or 31 November generate an error message.This facility will be available at a later date.They now click the Start button.

If invalid characters are used this error message appears.

In order to take an assessment at the correct level of difficulty pupils answer some ‘screening’ questions’. There will either be 6 or 8 screening questions depending on the year that the assessment was set up for.

Click on the correct answer. The pupil can either click in the blue circle or on the answer itself. Notice the button by your answerturns red. The question number also turns red.Now click the Next button.

The next question appears. This tells the pupil how many of the questions they have completed. The pupil now finishes answering the screening questions.

When the pupil has answered the screening questions to the best of their ability they click the Continue button.

This dialogue box appears as a safe guard. The pupil clicks OK if they have completed the questions.

The pupil is now presented with the 30 questions in the assessment.The pupil can navigate between questions by using the Next and Back buttons.The pupil can also navigate between questions using the scroll bar on the left of the screen.

If for some reason the assessment cannot be completed in one session then the assessment can be completed later. The pupil clicks on the Complete Later button.

This dialogue appears. The pupil clicks on OK.

The pupil now clicks on Close.

To return to the assessment the pupil logs on as shown earlier.The same computer must be used and the pupil must enter exactly the same details as before.

This screen then appears.To return to the assessment the pupil clicks on the ‘Continue Old Assessment’ button.

The pupil is returned to the assessment where they left it.

When the pupil has completed the assessment they click the ‘Finish’ button.

This dialogue box appears.

This screen appears while the answers are saved.

Pupils click on the ‘Close’ button.
