Read Me:

The purpose of this "read me" file is to define how this OPAC training aid will be used. This 5 step guide to scanning books into Book Crawler was developed to show student library aides at Al Dhaher how to assist the librarian with the task. The library is currently attempting to inventory and catalog over 1,000 texts in order to establish a viable lending library. Currently there is no OPAC software available and no equipment for scanning books and materials. It is hoped that this inexpensive iOS software will allow the librarian (with the help from a few volunteer students) to create a database for the libraries current collection. Book Crawler's data can be exported into a more robust OPAC application once the school system provides it. In the meantime, Book Crawler will make it much easier to quickly inventory the materials.
