Sunday’s Sermon HOW TO PRAY SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS WEEK... This Sunday’s Music SONGS OF WORSHIP As we prepare for the moment of corporate worship, spend time meditating on the lyrics from some of our songs of worship. 1. Pray for those who will lead in worship: Pastor J. Josh Smith Sam Whitley and the MBBC Worship Ministry 2. Pray that as we gather God will give us ears to hear, eyes to see, minds to understand, and hearts to obey! 3. Pray that Jesus Christ will be exalted through the Church gathered at MBBC. 4. Pray that as each one of us hears how we can be engaged in the ministry of MBBC we would respond to God’s call and serve Him, the Church and the world around us. This Sunday we begin a new four-part series titled, “YOU. This Moment. This Place. This Movement.” The goal of this series is to meet the dramatic needs of our church as we continue to expand and move forward. In order for us to do all God has called us to do, we need every member involved and active in ministry. This week, begin preparing for worship by prayerfully reading 1 Peter 4:1-11. We will focus the next four weeks on verses 10-11. Each week we will be looking at a different portion of this text. This week we will focus specifically on the first part of verse 10 that says, “As each one has received a gift.” That is a little phrase with huge implications. What does this statement say about you? What does it say about every believer? What is significant about this statement? Why does this statement matter? How does this statement counter many of the lies of the enemy? Do you really believe what Peter says in this verse? During this series I want to ask that you pray for more workers for the harvest. This is a prayer that Jesus specifically told us to pray in Luke 10:2. It is a prayer that Jesus wants us to pray and wants to answer. We need workers. Would you join me in praying this every week during July? Blessed Be Your Name Beth and Matt Redman Feat. Sunday’s Sermon In response to Sunday’s message, take time to think about these truths and the response questions.

http://d6family.com/splink/week/2012-7-1

Truth: You are gifted. As a believer in Jesus Christ you have not only been given the gift of salvation, you have been given a spiritual gift by God. You have been given talents and abilities that God wants to use for His purposes. No believer is excluded. Every believer is gifted.

Response: Meditate on this truth: You have been gifted by God. How should this truth affect you? What is your gift? Use this truth to combat some of the lies the enemy wants to tell us.

Truth: You have been graciously and sovereignly gifted. God in His grace has given you a gift. God has given you a gift based upon His sovereign distribution because he knows exactly what the church needs to do and what He intends for it to do. Your gifting is not an accident. Your gifting is part of God’s ultimate plan to accomplish His purposes.

Response: Know that your gift matters to the church. You have been gifted specifically so that the church might be all that God wants it to be. Use your gifts for the church. Don’t be fooled into thinking that the church does not need you. Find a way to use your gifts.

Response: This Sunday you were given a list of needs the church has at this time. If you are not actively involved in an area of ministry, find one and commit to it. The church needs you!
