Dieting: The practice of eating food in a regulated fashion to achieve or maintain a controlled weight is known as dieting. To promote weight loss, diets are generally divided into three categories: Low-fat diet, Low-calorie diet Very low calorie diet 2. HOW TO OVERCOME OBESITY:

5. Surgery: Physicians suggest losing weight through surgeries in some special cases.

Bariatric surgery (weight loss surgery), is performed on people who are extremely obese, for the purpose of losing weight. This weight is usually achieved by reducing the size of the stomach with an implanted medical device (gastric banding) or through removal of a portion of the stomach (gastric bypass surgery).

There is also a surgical way to reduce obesity that is laser treatment.

Some Western world countries such as Australia, Canada, the European Union, and the United States have created clinical practice guidelines in an attempt to address rising rates of obesity. It is known as the clinical protocol.

Physicians suggest taking medicine to patients who have a BMI of 30 or more, and surgery to those having BMI of 40 or more.
