Introduction A platform ‘S3WaaS- Secure, Scalable & Sugamya Website as a Service’ based on SaaS model has been

developed to Create, Deploy, Configure and Manage Accessible Websites without much of effort and

technical. The S3WaaS platform has been deployed on the infrastructure provided by the NIC Cloud.

This help file is intended for Technical Owner of the website, who after registering a site at S3WaaS can

customize the site from admin dashboard. Once you have successfully registered a new site at S3WaaS

and selected a theme, you’ll see site in your S3WaaS account dashboard with customize site option.

With your theme you get the look of your website. Next step is to manage site content. Let’s quickly run

S3WaaS Content-Types

The Content Management at S3WaaS allows storing all the data such as text, photos, music,

documents, etc. and is made available on your website. It helps in editing, publishing and

modifying the content of the website.

Content Types allows creating different type of Webpage in the Website. The user can choose

the Content-Type to specify the type of Webpage to create. The Content-Types available to user

are such as Page, Press Release, Link, Awards, Document, Event, Image Gallery, Notices,

Projects, Scheme, Services, Slider, Video, Who’s Who and Contacts.

Below figure illustrates the content management life cycle for site. It depicts three phases as;

creating new content with data, publishing content and managing content.

Every content type has its own features i.e. different fields according to content to be displayed

like an event page sections include date, time venue whereas who’s who type facilitates to add

person designation and contact details.

Steps to Operate Content Type for Website

1. Visit https://s3waas.gov.in and click login button at top right corner of page.

2. Login as Technical Owner of registered site

3. You are directed to the dashboard of your sites with customize site option.

4. Click customize site for the content type settings of the particular website.

5. Page is directed to Homepage of the Website with dashboard option on Top Bar.

7. Dashboard has Content Management menu on left side for available content types.

are discussed in the following sections –

9. Manage Content Types: Dashboard Menu

A. Page Content Type and Common Content Type Features

Page Content-Type helps to create a simple Webpage. Pages are static content and often do

not change its displayed information. The pages like Vision, About us, Disclaimer can be

developed using this content-type.

Click Pages tab from left menu of dashboard.

Pages Screen appears with a table that list all site Pages, by row. The Pages are listed

with the newest Page first. List display the page title, author, date (published or draft

last saved on).

Corresponding to each page has actions like Edit/Trash/View page content:

o Edit - The action is initiated by click on the Title or clicking on the Edit option

just below the Title, causes the Edit Pages screen to display.

o Quick Edit - Quick Edit is an "Immediate Action" that allows a quick in-line

edit of certain fields related to a Page. See the Quick Edit section for details

on this Action.

o Trash (Delete) - This Action deletes the Pages. Delete is available both as a

Bulk Action, and an Immediate Action.

o View - This Action presents the Page as it appears in a single Page view on

your blog. View is available only as an Immediate Action

Click Add New Page button from top left of screen to create a new page for site,

below Editor Screen appears. The Pages Add New Screen allows you to add new

Pages.

The rich text editor page has two tabs, Visual and Text. Select Visual tab to insert the

text.

Following are the details of the fields on editor page of the Add New Page:

o Title: It is used to write the title of the article, which is later displayed on the

page. You can use commas, apostrophes, quotes, hypens/dashes, and other

typical symbols like "About Jaipur – The Pink City”.

o Text Insertion: For writing the content of an article. The text area where you

enter your writing, links, links to images, and any information you want to

display on your site. To copy text from Microsoft Word/Excel or internet, first

copy it in notepad file then copy again from notepad and paste here.

o Text Editor: It is similar to a MS Word interface where you can edit the

contents of the article. Following are the options present of editor –

Bold Button (B) − Used to bold your font.

Italic (I) − Used to italicize the font.

Underline − Underlines the sentences.

Word Strike − Strikes through the content.

Bullet List − Adds bullets to content.

Number List − Adds numbers to the list of the content.

Blockquote − Quotes the text.

Horizontal Line − Creates a horizontal line between sentences.

Left Align − Sets the content on the left side of the page.

Right Align − Sets the content to the right side of the page.

Justify − Justifies the content of the page.

Paragraph − Selects the headings as required for the text from the dropdown.

Text Color − Sets color for words or sentences.

Paste as Text − Pastes your text.

Clear Formatting − Deletes selected content.

Special Character − Inserts special characters needed in your content.

Increase Indent − Increases the indent of the page.

Decrease Indent − Decreases the indent of the page.

Undo − Reverses the most recent editing command.

Redo − Opposite of undo, restores the most recent editing command.

Add Link − Adds a link to your content. When you click on this

button, the following screen gets displayed.

URL − Enter URL you want to link.

Link text − Insert text you want to enter into the link.

Open link in a new window/tab − Open your link page into the new tab or window. Check the box as required.

Or link to existing account − Links to an existing content page

by selecting the page from the given list. When you click on existing page then you get a link created in the URL section

Remove Link − Deletes the particular link added for text or content.

Read more tag − Adds Read More tag to your page.

o Featured Images: represent the contents, mood, or theme of a post or page.

Locate the Featured Image module on the right of the editor.

Click Set Featured Image. You will see an uploading screen. Follow the

on-screen prompts to choose the image from your computer and

upload it or choose it from one of the images already in your Media

Library.

Click on the one you want to use as a featured image. Next, click the

button Set Featured Image at the bottom right.

To remove or change a featured image, simply re-open the post or

page editor and click the cross X icon in the Featured Image module.

Publish Options

Click Preview to view how page appears on site. Allows you to view the page

before officially publishing it.

Save as Draft for future Publishing.

Click Publish, your posts get published immediately for the site user to view it.

Click "Edit" in the Publish area next to the words "Published on". You can also

change the publish date to a date in the past to back-date pages. Change the

settings to the desired time and date. You must also hit the "Publish" button

when you have completed the page to publish at the desired time and date.

Click Update: it allows you to edit the page once page is published you can do

the changes.

Click ‘Move to Trash’ to delete the page.

When you save it, a page URL is auto generated:

Click Edit at auto generated URL to make the changes as below:

B. Image Gallery This Content-Type is used to create the Image Gallery Web page. It helps to upload the

Image and display in Image Gallery Page.

Click Image Gallery option at dashboard menu

Click Add New button to create a new image gallery for site, below screen appears.

Enter the Image Gallery name/title

Enter the gallery description in text area

Enter the date for image gallery.

Select Add Media button as highlighted in above image, below screen is displayed

Click Create Gallery from left menu

Follow below steps to insert one or multiple images to gallery:

1. Insert the image from media library or Upload new files (Browse from system or

drag & drop files).

2. After the images have finished uploading, you can deselect any you don’t want

to include in the gallery by clicking on them — click again to re-select. To select

multiple images press ctrl key and click the images.

3. Once a particular image is selected, details window appears with following

fields, enter the details:

Title of the Image - The name of image file

Caption - A brief explanation of the image.

Alt Text - The alt text for the image, e.g. “Tajmahal” to describe the media.

Used for accessibility.

Description - An explanation of this particular image

4. When you’ve finished editing your gallery, Click Insert Selected Images into

Post button

The gallery shortcode appears on the text editor and can be used in its simplest form

like this:

[gallery ids=”005,006,007”]

This shortcode will display the images attached to the post or page.

Click Preview to view how page appears on site.

Publish it immediately or Save as Draft for future Publishing

C. Events This Content-Type is used create Events Page. Event can be such as launch, workshop, panel

discussion, challenge, conference, seminar and more. Event must have attributes like start

date and end date.

Click Events from left dashboard menu.

Event Screen appears with Add New Option on top left.

Click Add New at top left of screen, below screen appears.

Enter event title and description.

The following fields are required to create a new event:

Event Title : Name of the event

Start Date (Mandatory Field): Date on which event starts

End Date (Mandatory Field): Date on which event ends

Location : Venue details of event

File: upload pdf file related to event

Video Link: URL of any video related to event

Photos: Select the event photos by selecting photo gallery from dropdown (First

add the photos to a image gallery content type then it appears in Photos

dropdown)

Click Preview to view how event page appears on site.

Publish it immediately or Save as Draft for future Publishing.

Event Site View

D. Documents Content Type This Content-Type is used to create a document. These Content-Type is used to create a

Web page where document is to be displayed. The WebPages like Reports, Policy

Documents, Budget, Citizen Charter, and RFP etc will be created using this content-type.

The various Categories of the Document that can be created with this Content-Type are

Acts, Advisories, Brochures, Budget, Circular, Citizen Charter, E-book, Forms, Gazette

Notifications, Guidelines, Manuals, Notifications, Office Orders, Publications, Publicity

Material, Reports and RFD.

Click Documents from left menu of dashboard.

Documents Screen appears with Add New Option on top left and a list of already

created documents, list display the title, author, date (published or draft saved on).

Corresponding to each document has option to Edit/Trash/View page content.

Click Add New at top left of screen.

Document creation editor screen appears as below.

Enter the Document title.

Add document text in rich text area.

Select the Category checkbox such if document is related to brochure tick the

brochure checkbox.

If document lies in a category not listed in categories, click ‘add new category’ option

and create a new category.

Click Preview to view how event page appears on site.

Publish it immediately or Save as Draft for future Publishing.

Note: To create a New Category: Click Add New Category in categories section at right side of screen,

below screen appears. Enter the category name, slag and description. Select parent category (if sub

category).

E. Notices Content Type The Web Page such as Notice, Events, Recruitment and Tenders can be created using this

Content-Type.

Click Notices from left menu of dashboard.

Notices Screen appears with Add New Option on top left and a list of already

created notices, list display the title, author, notice category(announcement, tender,

recruitment, job etc.), date (published or draft saved on).

Corresponding to each notice has option to Edit/Trash/View page content.

F. Schemes Indian Government, at all levels, announces Welfare Schemes for a cross section of the

society from time to time. These schemes could be either Central, State specific or a joint

collaboration between the Centre and the States. This content-type is used to create the

Schemes Webpage of the Website.

Click Schemes from Dashboard menu

Click Add New, following screen appears:

Apart from Scheme Name and Content, following fields are required:

Period Start : The date & time when the Scheme will start,

Period End: The date & time when the Scheme will end.

Sector : The sector to which this Scheme belongs to i.e., state or ministry

Beneficiary: The Category of Person who will get benefited from this Scheme.

Benefits: This Section explains the User about the benefits of the Scheme.

How to Apply: This part specifies the Procedure for applying for the Scheme.

File: Scheme related brochure.

Select Scheme Category or Add New Scheme Category from right side panel.

Set the featured image

Preview the page to view how the page appears.

Publish the page for site user to view.

G. Services This content-type allows posting government services available for the district such as

certificates (birth, death and caste), disability commission, employment exchange and

more. Here you can provide the service details like category and contact details.

Click Services from left dashboard menu.

Click Add New from top left of page.

Below Services Editor Screen Appears.

Enter Title/Name of Service and description in text area.

Enter the Service details in following fields:

o Icon: Select icon to indicate service

o Website URL: If service has any designated site, enter site address here

o Contact Details: Service Center Name, City Name, PIN, Email, Address and

Contact No.

H. Who’s Who The contact details of district personnel are placed in the Who’s Who Section. This Content-

Type is used to display the information District’s Personnel.

Profile Ordering through dashboard:

o Once you have created new who’s who profile it appears on the who’s who

dashboard. Now you can set the ordering of profiles.

o Left click on row you want to reorder, just drag and drop the row at the

desired position.

o Visit the site to view the changes.

I. Video This Content-Type is used to create the Video Gallery Web page. It helps the User to upload

the Video and display at Video Gallery Page.

Click Video from left dashboard menu.

Click Add New from top left of page.

Video Editor Screen Appears.

Enter Page Title

Enter Description in text area.

The fields required are:

Title of the Video

Description

YouTube Video ID (Mandatory Field)

It is the ID that appears in the YouTube Video URL at YouTube site: For e.g. if

below is your video URL at YouTube Site, Copy the video id as highlighted and

paste in the Video ID field

Accessible video (Mandatory Field)

Select Yes: Can be accessed by any user regardless of his/her visual or hearing

capability through screen reader, as in above video.

If accessible video is selected No, take approval from competent authority to

upload this inaccessible content on the website.

Click Preview for page view at site.

Click Publish to make it visible for site user.

J. Awards This Content-Type is used to create the Awards Web page. It helps the User to create

individual Awards to be display in Awards Page.

Click Awards from left dashboard menu.

Click Add New from top left of Awards page.

K. Contact This Content-Type is used to create the Feedback/Suggestion Form for site. Through

contact form site user can submit their general details along with message or query. The

form details are sent to email id set in contact form backend settings.

Click Contact from left dashboard menu.

Click Add New from top left of Contact dashboard.

Editor Screen Appears with default contact form.

Title: Enter the contact form title.

It allows the User to Customize the Form using following:

Mail: This feature helps User to customize the mail that is sent on receiving the feedback.

It has following fields.

After all the editing, Click Save provided at the right top panel of editor screen.

Once you save the form a short code is created:

Copy and paste it into your contact us page and publish the page.

L. Public Utility This content-type allows adding any public utility within or nearby district with details for

public ease such as hospitals, banks, schools and so on.

Click Public Utility from left dashboard menu.

Click Add New from top left of page.

Below Public Utility Editor Screen Appears.

Enter Utility Title/Name

Enter the Utility Information such as:

Address

Email

Phone

M. Tourist Places This content-type allows posting places to visit inside district with photographs and details

like directions, stay, how to reach and more.

Click Tourist Places>Add New from left dashboard menu.

Below Tourist Places Editor Screen Appears.

Enter Title/Name of tourist place and description in text area

Enter the Utility Information such as:

o Photos: Create photo gallery for particular place through image gallery

content type, then it appears here in dropdown list. Select gallery name from

list.

o Directions: Enter latitude and longitude for Map display

o How to reach: Mode of commutation to reach the place (air, rail or road)

o Stay: name the hotels and guest rooms where visitor can stay

N. Set Default Language The S3WaaS generated website is bilingual. English is the default/main language; however you can

change regional language to be the main language. By doing this the website will open in regional

language by default.

Go to dashboard page and Select Languages tab from dashboard menu.

Below screen appears, Select Star (as highlighted in image) for the language you want to

set as the default/main language.

On changing the default language to regional, site will appear in regional language by default.
