I created the drive successfully - BUT! It only allows you to installwindows - it won't allow you to do anything else.

I Have one Solution to make a bootable pendrive Using CMD

============================================

1. You Need to run Command Prompt as administrator

2.Type diskpart and press enter

3.Type list disk then press enter, You'll See the list of partitions are

available

4.select disk x (Here x is the disk number of the pendrive partition)

5.then type clean and press enter

6.Type create primary partition then press enter

7.Then type create partition primary press enter

8.Type active then press enter

9.Type format fs=fat32 quick and press enter

10.then the final step type assign. After typed assign one popup window

appear.

just copy the windows files from the disk and paste in to that window.

thats it..

You have the bootable pendrive!!!!!

RhyaanB (/member/RhyaanB/)

Hi.

Not an expert in these matters. When I type 'cd boot' to change the

directory it says "The system cannot find the path specified".

I don't have a WinXP CD, I am using a bootable image file mounted as a

virtual disk.

d:' is not working. 'Access is denied' message is coming. my paths are

correct but still...

pls pls pls help me.

I had the same problem. Not sure if these instructions here are

complete. I used another guide and after entering the 'assign' then

'exit' commands, I simply copied over the files from my install disc

to the pen drive. That takes about 20 minutes. When that wasdone, I removed and then re-inserted the pen drive and the 'run

setup.exe.' install screen came up in autorun showing the

operating system can now be installed from the pen drive. Hope

this helps! Here is the guide I used:

from-a-usb-device.aspx)

That was so much easier than the first one I made. I did not use the quick formatoption though.

Thank You!

i have try it on win 8 and it works

PavanJ1 (/member/PavanJ1/)

Are you sure that Step-2 really creates a boot sector or it just creates a

volume boot record onto the flash drive.

are the both things same?/

abdulraheem.jeeme (/member/abdulraheem.jeeme/)

find out the similar article here (http://itsignal.blogspot.com/2015/03/usb-

type-windows-bootable-tool-exe-free.html)

nachiketb (/member/nachiketb/)

How can i perform the same in Linux?

RendiN (/member/RendiN/) (author) nachiketb

Linux has an easier way because it has iso file formats, you just

need UNetbootin and everything goes easier.

I used this manual method because I was lazy to make an iso file

from the Windows installation files. :)

gravityisweak (/member/gravityisweak/)

Which versions of windows does this work for?

RendiN (/member/RendiN/) (author) gravityisweak

so far worked well for Windows XP and Windows 7, but I have not

tried to Windows 8 yet.

I think the method has the same way, even if different, it might just

how to make the boot sector :)
