    How to build a bird feeder( part 1)Material needed:1" X 6" cedar

    1 1-4" finish nails3/8" dowel2 hinges

    Bird feeder measurements - click here

    Using a table saw, jig saw, or hand saw cut the bird feeder pieces.

    With a table saw cut a grove half the depth of the wood to the front and back of the bird feeder.

    Two of the four sides sides will have a 3/8" hole, for the 3/8" dowel.

    Measure 1/2" down.Measure 1/2" across.

    Drill a 3/8" hole where the lines cross. Two of the bird feeder sides will have a 3/8" hole.

    Using 1-1/4" finish nails, nail sides to the floor.

    Insert dowels into place, cut to length, add wood glue to secure in place.

    Mark the center to the floor, and the front and back pieces. Align the marks, and nail the front and back

    into the sides with holes.

    Cut apiece of Plexiglas to size and slide in.

    Cut half inch in the bottom so that the bird seeds will come out.

    Overlap the big roof piece with the small one, and install the hinges.

    Center the roof, and nail the small roof piece. The big roof piece will open to fill with bird feed, the

    Plexiglas can also slide out for cleaning the bird feeder.

    To hang the bird feeder, drill a 3/8" hole through the front and back, and insert a dowel.

    Screw in some eye screws to the ends of the dowel, add a chain, and it's ready to hang.

    Bird feeder finished, painted, and decorated.
