This week, each Y6 ‘bubble’ had a talk from a

couple of police officers about transition to

secondary school and how to keep themselves

safe. The Y6 children had some fantastic

questions for the officers. One topic that was

discussed was the theme ‘peer pressure’ and

how to avoid giving into it.

Imogen (6P) enjoyed

making her paper

mâché volcano and

watching it explode.

We are all dreading the thought of missing

sports day in July. We thought it would be

great to hold a virtual sports day for all our

families at home. Start thinking about what

events children could do at home as we will be

soon be asking you for your ideas via our

Thinking Shed on Google classroom.

Scarlet (5S) wrote this fabulous review of a book she was

reading. Why not send your review in to be published?

Cameron P (4P) got inspiration

from his Beano magazine to

investigate a bouncing egg.

Cameron said it was very stinky

as the egg had to be soaked in

vinegar for 3 days!

Imogen (5S) worked hard on

arguments for and against

keeping animals in zoos.

Jasmine (4J) has been

busy baking raspberry

and passionfruit

muffins this week. She

certainly looks like a

professional chef!

Y5 are leading the way this week, with all three classes in

the top 3 spelling groups!

These are our top three individual spellers:

Maddie (3J) sent us her very creative story

and even managed to record herself reading

it out aloud with great expression. We have

some very creative writers at SPJS. Keep

up the good work everyone!

Thomas (3J) helps his Dad

in their ‘allotment’ by

making sure the plants are

watered regularly – it’s one

of his daily jobs!

Well done Thomas!

Keira (5P) has

worked hard on

her poster about

the London Eye as

part of her

Geography work.

Connor (3P) made his daddy his very own word-search

for Father’s Day. He hid the words strategically. Well

done Connor – I bet your daddy will enjoy receiving it.

HOW SCORING WORKS ON SPELLING SHED

Highest Score - This is the highest score ever achieved in a single game.

Total Score - This is the total score achieved in all games ever.

Shed Score - This is the main score used for leagues and is the total score from the past seven days. This

may go down as well as up. It is rolling total which is calculated live and the score is cached after each game

play. For example, if you earned 30 million points on Wednesday, the following Tuesday those points would be

included in the shed score but on Wednesday, those points are now more than 7 days old so they stop being

included in the score.

Correct answer was sweet pepper seeds.

Thank you to Leo P (4J) who sent us a

picture of any angry looking pepper! He

was the only person to get this right –

great observation skills Leo!

Can you solve this

dingbat?

We have done some of

these in school – say

what you see! Email

the office with your

answer.

Well done to the first five

people who answered the

catchphrase correctly!

1. Leia T (3J)

2. Mira S (5P)

3. Zach R (3S)

4. Ryan S (6P)

5. Shuddhi N (3S)
