How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary

tasks?

The artist

Throughout both my music video and ancillary tasks I wanted to keep the main focus on the artist himself. I did this to help connote the happiness in which the artist expresses.

I kept the happy expression on my artists face throughout both tasks.

I created this cd by combining the layed back personality and combining it with the happy personality which is shown through his memories in my video.

The artistTherefore this was effective as I kept the same expression on my artist throughout both tasks.

I clearly Identified the happiness he portrayed. For example portraying all of his happy memories in my video gave the impression he is happy and has experienced it himself. I then continued to express that through my ancillary tasks.

Effects

The black and white effect I used in my video was an effect which I wanted to retain throughout. I created this effect as it connoted the memories of my artists past.

Within my video I added it to increase the visual effect and to create a sense of memories. An idea in which is conventional in reggae music videos.

For my ancillary I task I wanted to retain this effect however I couldn’t create it through visual images. I chose to create it through the text I used. The Digipak itself wasn’t completely combined with the black and white effect but I wanted to show it in a less obvious way to create the feeling the past memories are still there.

Theme I wanted to create an urban theme for my video

as it’s conventional for reggae music videos. I added onto this idea by including open field locations and street themes for my ancillary tasks.

I wanted to keep this theme as I created my ancillary task. The urban theme suggested the old and sentimental values this locations could create towards the genre of reggae.

Therefore this theme was very effective as I came to create my ancillary tasks because I could continue combining these locations through still images.

Examples

Both locations are shown to be urban and conventional. I contrasted the enclosed urban city with various tall buildings with open vast fields to connote both sides of the urban life.

This theme was continued onto my album cover. The background is a conventional urban street with a Serbia effect. I have clearly combined both sides of an urban city with a creative urban city to achieve the most effective combination.
