Regular Budget (scale used by UN to assess contributions from its Members is adjusted to Agency scale (scale of assessment). The Agency’s Regular Budget is divided into a safeguard component and a non-safeguards component.

Technical cooperation fund (TCF) – Voluntary contributions based on the scale from UN and adjusted to Agency purposes. Developed countries make pledges, developing countries pay a certain percentage to the fund (the so-called National Participation Costs)

Extrabudgetary resources: Voluntary contribution from Member States to a Regular budget project for which not funding is available or for TC Note projects (unfunded).

Financing of the Agency

PARTICIPATION (1)

International Conference and symposia 12 months before a CN, Agency sends to MS a packet

consisting of covering Note Verbale, Information Sheet, Participation Form, Submission or a Paper and Grant Application. The announcement is placed in IAEA.org.

Member States are invited to designate participants and to submit scientific contributions

Designation can only be accepted when received through official channels.

PARTICIPATION (2)

Technical, Training Meetings andWorkshops

Agency starts the process and sends invitation to Member States through Permanent Missions in Vienna.

Member States designate participants and send request for financial support.
