A community led housing movementPeople and communities playing a role in making their own housing solutions – making sustainable and lasting homes, resilient and confident local communities, helping people develop skills they never knew they had.
People and communities can make homes:• they build themselves (on their own/in groups)• in villages, towns and neighbourhoods, building
homes that local people can afford to buy or rent now and in the future
• that are designed for people want to live as a community where people support each other
• in places where the only way to get community support for building homes is through communities making the decisions
• in renovated empty homes and buildings• for people of all income levels, young and old
• the risk is being seen as big business• how can the sector support a growing community‐led housing sector accessible to all
