Uniform Crime Report (Breakdown of Major Events)
The breakdown of major crime events can help us quickly putsome crimes in perspective. For example, a Uniform Crime Report(UCR) may be able to tell us at a glance whether intent ornegligence is currently a trending factor in local homicides, or ifthe theft of commercial vehicles is trending upward compared tothe theft of passenger cars or motorcycles.
In addition, since the report is used by law enforcement agencieson a national level these eight particular crime statistics serves asa baseline to help analysts examine the rise and fall of local, stateand national crime.
