‘In Concert’

On the 23rd of May, our Year 10 Music Class had the opportunity to perform in a choral ensemble with over 700 other students from schools from all over New South Wales. ‘In Concert’ was an amazing musical experience where we were able to further develop our singing skills from the very first rehearsal to the concert, held in Town Hall. We were lucky enough to be accompanied by the NSW Public Schools Jazz Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble for a few songs of our repertoire. The Idea of North, an outstanding acapella group, whom have previously won two ARIA awards and are internationally known, joined the combined choir to sing their rendition of Sting’s Fields Of Gold and their original song Edgar’s Essay. We thoroughly enjoyed the performances of the other ensembles and we especially loved The Idea of North’s, Not Perfect. A huge thank you to Mrs Sholl for arranging for our class to be a part of ‘In Concert' 2018. Mock Trial

Year 11 Legal Studies students are into the 4th round of Mock Trial. The team has had a range of challenging cases to either defend or prosecute, including a contested will, assault, larceny and negligence. The interschool competition offers a unique opportunity for students to practise their advocacy skills and gain a deeper understanding of the processes of our legal system. Thanks to Mrs Gilmore who provides coaching and support to the students. Debra Black, Head Teacher Social Science
