PASTORAL PRAYER

LORD’S PRAYER Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

ISAIAH 9:2-7 (NIV) “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest, as warriors rejoice when dividing the plunder. For as in the day of Midian’s defeat, you have shattered the yoke that burdens them, the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor. Every warrior’s boot used in battle and every garment rolled in blood will be destined for burning, will be fuel for the fire. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.”

CONGREGATION PLEASE STAND (AS YOU ARE ABLE)

CHORAL CALL TO WORSHIP “Advent Introit” Newbury

CALL TO WORSHIP L: We gather today, friends, on this second Sunday of Advent to celebrate Jesus as the Prince of Peace. P: Our country is at war, our government is in turmoil, and even within our own families there is strife. Where is the peace of the Lord? L: Jesus has offered us a way to find peace. He calls us to lay our burdens upon him and to rest in the presence of God’s spirit. This peace is available to us, even in the midst of conflict and strife. P: We call upon the presence of the Lord to settle on this place and within our hearts that we might enjoy the peace of God that passes all understanding. Amen.

THE 3F CLUB: FOOD, FELLOWSHIP, FUN

Look to the New Year for a great new fellowship opportunity! You will have the chance to sign up to join with couples and singles of all ages to create a dinner club. You will then be paired with three other family units made up of couples or singles. Once a month for the following four months, each couple or individual in your personal “club” will host a dinner, and other members of your club will assist. This will give folks the opportunity to meet in the comfort of someone’s home instead of a restaurant to share a meal. Each family unit will have

the opportunity to serve as host. We will join in small groups and get to know each other better, enjoy food, drink, and fellowship, develop deeper relationships, and share the love of God together. Sign-up in Souers Hall. We will start the end of January and go to May.

Circle 4 will meet at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, at the home of Iris

Stevens, 313 S Desert, Litchfield Park. All women are welcome.

2015 CONTRIBUTIONS

In order for your offerings to be reflected on your 2015 giving statement all contributions must be in the church office no later than noon on Thursday, December 31st.
