10 Things You May Not Know About Mesotherapy

Here at Hope Healthcare, we like to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to groundbreaking medical and cosmetic treatments we have to offer. One of the most

groundbreaking treatments new to the Jackson area is Mesotherapy or Body Sculpting. Frequently referred to as non-surgical liposuction, Mesotherapy is a great alternative to invasive surgery. One of the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” recently announced that she had had it done on her arms and referred to it as “smart lipo.” Whatever you may want to call it, Mesotherapy is sweeping the nation and making many patients believers.

Have you wanted to lose weight but target it in a specific area? Have you lost weight but that stubborn belly fat is still lingering? Mesotherapy may be perfect for you!

Here are 10 things you need to know about Mesotherapy:

1. Mesotherapy has been around for half a century. It was pioneered by a French physician in 1952. The doctor discovered that he could target specific problem areas of fat using micro-injections of homeopathic medications mixed specifically with the patients’ needs in mind. 2. Liposuction DOES NOT get rid of cellulite, nor is it used to treat it. Mesotherapy is a permanent solution to get rid of cellulite and is proven to treat problem areas of fat. 3. Mesotherapy can eliminate localized fat deposits such as “saddle bags” and “muffin tops.” It can even be used to get rid and reduce the fat cells that cause a double chin! 4. Mesotherapy has very few side effects. 5. Results of Mesotherapy can be seen in as little as 3 treatments. Complete results can be achieved in as few as 4-6 treatments! 6. Cellulite usually appears between the ages of 25-35 and usually always worsens over time. Creams and lotions are not a cure but Mesotherapy can be! Here are the different stages of cellulite: Stage 0 – There is no visible cellulite even when the skin is pinched. Stage 1 – No visible cellulite can be seen when standing or lying down, although an “orange peel” like texture can be visible if you pinch the skin Stage 2 – If you are standing there is visible cellulite, but not when lying down. Stage 3 – Cellulite is visible when both standing and lying down. 7. Mesotherapy is completely safe when performed by a well trained physician. During the 50 plus years that Mesotherapy has been practiced no deaths have occurred. Compared to Liposuction, which causes approximately 100 deaths per year, it is definitely a safer alternative.

8. Mesotherapy is much more cost effective vs. Liposuction. As a matter of fact, the total cost for all treatments is 60-70% less with virtually the same results! 9. 90% of women are affected by cellulite. Even thin women and men can develop

cellulite. A good way to tell if you may develop cellulite is to pinch the skin and see if an “orange peel” like texture appears. 10. Mesotherapy provides permanent results as well as inches lost! We strongly

advise combining Mesotherapy with one of Hope Healthcare’s custom designed weight-loss programs. Doing this will not only ensure you lose weight but it will help to target weight-loss in specific areas such as your tummy or thighs.

So now you see: Mesotherapy isn’t new, it’s tried and true. Just make sure you are treated by a professional who has trained specifically in this field such as our very own Mary Beth Parks, FNP. Here at Hope Healthcare, we look at all of your options with you. We want to help make your dream body a reality by custom designing the right program that will work for you and get you amazing results! Call us at 731-661-9163 to set up your free consultation today!

What is “Biblical Living?” I think the Scripture that most epitomizes “Biblical Living” is John 15:5, which reads in the New Revised

Standard Version, “I [Jesus] am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.”

Do you live this way? Do you abide in Christ? Do you allow Christ in you, to bear much fruit? If we are truly honest with ourselves, most of us don’t. We may desire to, but we don’t.

So how do we? We need to know God’s Word. We need to study God’s Word and allow it to transform us, to renew our mind (Romans 12:2). We need to apply God’s Word to our lives so we are truly living Biblically.

Many of you, our Dove listeners, know some of my story. . . On October 25, 2005, my parents were murdered. What you may not know, is that what got me through my faith crisis was God, speaking to me, through His Word. Regardless of how much my heart was (and sometimes still is) troubled, I choose to believe in God, and I pray Scripture to reinforce my faith. For example, I told God that Scripture says “Do not let your hearts be troubled . . .” (John 14:1a), “but my heart is troubled, Lord! You allowed my parents to be murdered!!!” I plead with God to give me the faith that will move mountains (Matthew 17:20). When I have struggled with painful feelings, I asked God to replace my anger, anxiety, and fear with the peace of God that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). I asked God to remove my sleepless nights and enable me to sleep in peace and safety (Psalm 4:8). I asked God to replace my weakness with His strength (Psalm 28:7). I asked God to take away the loneliness of life without Mom and Pop, and to give me the abundant life (John 10:10). I told God I desire justice, and God told me in His Word

that He is the Righteous Judge (Psalm 7:11; 9:8; 98:9). His Word reminded me that I do not need to worry about justice on earth because the final judgment happens in heaven (Revelation 20:11-15).

So what is your situation that you need God’s comfort, direction, and hope? Marriage or relationship difficulties, challenges in raising children, work issues? Be specific and then look up what God’s Word has to say about it and begin to pray Scripture.

You see, friends, when we pray God’s Word over our situation, we are living Biblically. We are inviting God to help us to see this earthly life through His lenses. We are welcoming God to use Scripture to mold us more into His glorious reflection. It is God’s Word that the Holy Spirit uses to transform us into the image of Christ. Then Christ

can live in us and through us to bear much fruit because apart from Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5).

If you have a question for the attorney, please email it to [email protected]. While all of the questions submitted cannot be answered in this article, I will personally respond by email to your inquiry.

How Do I Choose a Divorce Attorney?

7) What is this attorney’s billing practice? Does he or she charge a retainer fee? What is his or her hourly billing rate? Generally, theamountoftheretainerwillreflectthat attorney’sideaofamaterialinvestmentinthecasesufficient for that attorney to make a corresponding professional commitment. Rarely is there a correlation between the expected total fee and the retainer amount. Attorneys do not know how much time and effort will be needed to complete any particular case. 8) Does this attorney practice only family law, or does he or she practice in other areas as well?

9) Is this attorney a member of the local, state and federal bar association’s family law sections? Membership demonstrates the attorney’s commitment to continuing education and following the many changes and development of family law.

10) What does this attorney think about my case? What is a realistic but favorable settlement for my situation? Can I receive more than one-half of the marital property in a settlement? If we have a trial, will the court award me more than one-half of the marital property? How much child support can I expect? How much alimony can I receive? What does the attorney foresee as challenges to me in obtaining a favorable settlement or result at trial? (Caution: Do not hire an attorney simply because he or she predicts a better outcome or promises a certain result. While it is human nature to gravitate toward a more positive person, the most important part of being an attorney is advising a client about the realities of a situation. A client must understand what can go wrong as well as what can go right).

Before you meet with an attorney, make a list of questions that concern you most. If you do not put your questions in writing, you may forget to ask them. It is helpful to gather certain documents in preparation for your first meeting with an attorney, such as financial statements, income tax returns, bank statements, retirement and investment account statements. After your initial consultation, the attorney will provide you with a list of other documents needed to analyze your case and will give you forms to complete regarding assets, debts, income and expenses.

When selecting a divorce attorney, it is also helpful to keep in mind the typical services and tasks your attorney will perform. Generally, your divorce attorney will consult with you and listen to your concerns, give advice about what to expect during your case, tell you how the law applies to your specific situation, suggest strategy in all aspects of your case, direct the investigation by professionals including private investigators and expert witnesses, prepare and file court pleadings, lead settlement negotiations and suggest offers and counter-offers, prepare you and some witnesses before testifying, recommend expert witnesses and appraisers, take depositions, prepare for and attend court appearances, and assist you with all decisions necessary in your case.

Angela is a lifelong resident of Madison County, Tennessee, and has practiced law here for 13 years. Angela is married to Karl Snider, and they are the proud parents of Kaylee (age 11) and Cole (age 5). Angela and her family attend Fellowship Bible Church. They love to spend time together on their farm with their miniature donkeys, goats, lamb, pig, bunnies, guineas, ducks, geese, chickens, dogs, cats and fantail pigeons.

Attorney selection is critical in a divorce case. As the client, you will be discussing the most intimate details of your personal

life with your attorney. Ask for recommendations from friends and family members who have been through a divorce, or ask non-divorce attorneys to make a referral. Almost all divorce attorneys will agree to meet with you for an initial consultation, which means you will pay a fee (usually that attorney’s hourly rate) for an initial meeting with him or her. Trust your intuition. If you are not comfortable with an attorney, find another one. Avoid hiring an attorney who acts like you are lucky to be his or her client. There are plenty of other attorneys to choose from.

When selecting an attorney, ask the following questions:

1) AmIconfidentinthisattorney?Yourpersonalconfidencein the attorney is incredibly important.

2) Is this attorney experienced? How many similar cases have he or she handled? An inexperienced attorney may cave in to pressure too easily or take unrealistic positions in your case.

3) Is this attorney accessible? Will I be able to communicate with him or her by phone or email? Does this attorney have a legal assistantwhocanassistmeiftheattorneyisoutoftheoffice?

4) Is this attorney responsive to my legal needs? What plan of action does he or she recommend for my case?

5) Is this attorney compatible with my personality? What is his or her style? negotiating skills?

6) What is this attorney’s reputation?

C lusters of colorful grapes are traditional addi tions to many holiday tables. Whether they are used for a

centerpiece, a garnish for the main course (think turkey, crown roast of pork, baked ham) or a “must” addition to a fruit and cheese plate, grapes offer beauty, flavor and freshness to the season.

But there are many other ways to add grapes to special meals and party fare. the recipes included here are easy-to-make, beautiful and tasty examples of unique ways to prepare and serve grapes. Luckily, many varieties of fresh grapes from California are available throughout the holiday season and into January. For more recipes and serving suggestions, visit www.grapesfromcalifornia.com.

Grape Tuxedo Bites, 3 WaysSometimes, the amount of cookies and other sweets served during the holidays can be overwhelming. Grape Tuxedo Bites 3 Ways are the exception. These three recipes, featur ing white and dark chocolate, caramel, toffee bits, almonds and peanuts, are definitely rich, but because the center of each is a refreshing, juicy grape, they avoid being overly sweet.

Grape RelishFor a small holiday party, a festive assort ment of cheeses, meats, breads and crackers is an easy solution. This pretty Grape Relish provides the perfect foil to the rich assort ment, combining sweet, tart and aromatic elements. The relish is also a wonderful accompaniment to poultry dishes, too.Servings: 8 2 c finely chopped red and green seedless California grapes 2 Tbsp minced shallot 2 tsp chopped fresh thyme 1 Tbsp sherry vinegar 1 1/2 tsp sugar 1 tsp safflower or vegetable oil 1/4 tsp each salt and freshly ground pepper 1 baguette, sliced thinlyIn medium bowl, combine chopped grapes, shallot, thyme, vinegar, sugar, oil, salt and pepper. Transfer to small serving bowl and set aside. Makes 2 cups.

To make crostini, preheat oven to 350°F. Spread baguette slices on baking sheet and toast until crisp, about 10 minutes. Let cool.Suggested buffet platter selections to accompany relish: Crostini, ham, sliced duck breast, pâtés, additional grape clusters, assorted mustards in small condiment bowls or custard cups and cheeses, such as st. andre, manchego, aged cheddar or goat cheese.

Set a sparkling table with frosted grapesSet amid a selection of other treats, frosted grapes make quite an impression. Delicate, but ever so tempting, these easy-to-make beauties are also a lovely garnish atop cakes and custards.

Frosted Grapes 2 lbs seedless California grapes, cut into 2- to 4-inch clusters 2 large egg whites, beaten or 1/4 cup pasteurized liquid egg whites 1 cup superfine granulated sugar

Hold one grape cluster by the stem and brush lightly with egg whites. Transfer to rack set over wax paper, then sprinkle with sugar. Using fingers, turn cluster to lightly coat. Gently shake off excess sugar. repeat with remaining clusters. Let grapes dry, uncovered, at room temperature, about 2 hours.

Grape Roquefort Canapés The welcome combination of grapes, cheese and nuts on holiday buffet platters is fairly common, but these tasty Grape Roquefort Canapés roll all three altogether in one simple bite-sized serving. Creamy cheeses, with the distinctive bite of Roquefort, the juicy sweetness of grapes, the crunch of nuts and the anise hint from the tarragon quickly satisfies without being heavy. Plus, they’re very elegant.Makes 20 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened 1/4 cup crumbled Roquefort or other blue cheese, at room temperature 1/4 cup heavy cream 1 tablespoon chopped tarragon 20 red seedless California grapes 1/3 cup finely chopped toasted pistachios or toasted walnutsline small baking sheet with waxed or parch-ment paper. set aside.

Weeds are most often the cause of fall hay-fever symptoms. While avoiding the allergens that trigger symptoms is the best way to control hay fever, your allergist may prescribe

an antihistamine (along with other medications) to manage your symptoms.

Antihistamines are the most widely used medications to relieve or prevent allergy symptoms. These medications prevent the effects of histamine during an allergic reaction. Antihistamines are available as a liquid, tablet or nasal spray. Some require a prescription, while others are available over the counter (OTC).

Older, “first-generation” antihistamines, such as diphenhydramine and chlorpheniramine, can cause dry mouth, constipation or drowsiness. These first-generation medications can further aggravate the fatigue already felt by allergy sufferers, and may be appropriate for nighttime use. Newer antihistamines prescribed by your allergist are less likely to have side effects. However, if they’re not working as well as they used to, you may need a different type of treatment.

Oral decongestants, such as pseudoephedrine, reduce nasal congestion but often produce insomnia, nervousness, heart palpitations or increased blood pressure. Leukotriene antagonists may also be prescribed to treat allergies. Many times, nasal steroids are better alternatives for seasonal allergies. Prescription nasal sprays can be topical steroids or antihistamines. OTC nasal sprays contain decongestants, but should be limited to just a couple of days’ use, or worse congestion (called the “rebound effect”) can result.
