Dry or loose debris will also collect onthe filter screen (D) in the tank lid,Remove debris from screen,

The filter screen may also be cleanedby rinsing it under running water,

The tank lid contains a washable,reusable filter, Clean this filter whensuction is low or reduced,

To clean filter

Turn cleaner OFF.

Remove recovery tank and lid (Fig. 3-12 & 3-13). Remove filter lid (A), thenremove filter. Remove loose debris

from filter by either brushing or tap-ping the filter. The filter may also berinsed for additional cleaning. Allowfilter to air dry between uses.

Replace filter lid. Press down firmly tosecure the seal.

To clean floor (vinyl,

tile, linoleum, etc.)1. Vacuum floor.

2. Fill solution tank with HOOVER_Floor-to-Floor TM Cleaner and water,according to instructions for Figs. 3-5through 3-11, Do not use pine orsolvent based cleaning concen-trates in your cleaner. Do not useany type of wax in your cleaner.

3. Lower handle to operating position.

4. Set mode selector switch toSCRUB. This will turn the brushesON.

5. To release solution, squeeze trig-ger (A). Slowly move cleaner forwardand backward over area (approx. 2' x3' sections) to be cleaned. Squeezetrigger to release solution as needed.

Overlap strokes by one inch to helpprevent streaking.

6. After area is cleaned, move themode selector switch to PICK UP.

The agitator brushes are OFF and themop's suction will pick up the dirtysolution.

Move cleaner over the area to pick upthe dirty solution.7. To continue cleaning another area,move mode selector switch to

SCRUB. Repeat with steps 5 and 6.

NOTE: To extend battery charge, itis recommended that a small area (2'x 3') be cleaned completely inSCRUB mode, then switch to PICK-UP mode. Continue cleaning in 2' x 3'areas, scrubbing first, followed bypickup. Battery operating time will beapproximately 25-33 minutes if thisprocedure is followed for cleaningfloors.

When switching between SCRUB andPICKUP, it is not necessary to turnthe cleaner off. Simply move themode selector switch back and forth

between the two settings.

8. Empty recovery tank or clean thefilter when the motor sound becomes

higher in pitch and there is a loss ofsuction (see "Automatic Shut-Off",page 6).

Cleaning sealed woodfloorsYour HOOVER Impulse TM cordlesspower mop may be used to cleanwood floors that have been sealed

with a polyurethane coating and canbe cleaned with water,

CAUTION: To prevent damage towood floors, follow the flooringmanufacturer's cleaning recom-mendations.

If using cleaner on sealed woodfloors, inspect floor surface forworn finish, bare wood or separat-ed joints. Do not use Impulse TM

mop to wet clean sealed woodfloors if any of these conditionsexist.

1. Inspect floor surface for worn fin-ish. bare wood or separated joints.Do not use your Impulse TM powermop to wet clean the floor if any ofthese conditions exist.

2. Vacuum floor.

3. Fill solution tank with HOOVER,>Floor-to-Floor TM Cleaner and water.

according to instructions for Figs. 3-5through 3-11.

Do not use pine or solvent baseddetergents. Do not put any type ofwax in your cleaner.

4. Lower handle to operating position.

Battery charging

Picking Up SpillsYour cleaner may also be used topick up small liquid spills (1 pint orless, never to exceed 1/4 inch indepth) on non-carpeted floors.

Lower handle to operating position.

Set mode selector switch to PICKUP.

Slowly move the cleaner over thespill. The mop's suction will pick upthe spill.

Do not use the cleaner to pick upflammable or combustible liquidsor chemicals. Do not use the clean-

er to pick up detergents that con-tain pine or solvent based ingredi-ents.

Battery indicator light

What do the different light colorsmean?

• The indicator light will be SOLIDORANGE when the unit is pluggedinto the charger and there is nocharge left on the battery.

• The indicator light will be SOLIDGREEN when the battery is at fullcharge, and the cleaner is pluggedinto the charger. During cleaner use.when the battery is low and there isapproximately two minutes of run timeleft. the indicator light will flash.

• The indicator light will BLINK RED ifthe battery is low and the cleaner is8

not plugged into the charger.

The cleaner can be on a constant

charge so it is always ready for use.Make sure it is in OFF positionbefore charging. However. if thecleaner will not be used for several

Cleaning the nozzleTurn cleaner OFF.

The cleaner's nozzle (A) can beremoved for easy cleaning,

Slide the two nozzle release latches

(B) outward,

Remove nozzle (A) by pulling straightout,

Rinse nozzle under running water,Remove debris from squeegee (C)and wipe with a damp cloth,

To replace nozzle, make sure latchesare out, Cleaner should be in the

upright position for easier assembly ofthe nozzle,

Align middle section (D) of nozzlewith opening on cleaner (E),

While holding nozzle in place, slide

latches inward to lock in place,

Cleaning the brushesTurn cleaner OFF. Remove tanks to

prevent possible leaks, Set tanksaside,

Turn cleaner over so that the bottom

is facing up, Carefully remove debrisfrom the the agitator brush roll (A),

WARNING: Agitator brush roll canstart suddenly. Extra care must betaken when cleaning the agitatorbrushes.

CAUTION: Any other servicingshould be performed by an autho-rized Hoover Service Representa-tive. The appliance has no user ser-viceable parts.

When these batteries no longerrecharge, they must be removedfrom the cleaner and disposed ofproperly in accordance with statelaws as described below,

NOTE: Do not remove the batteries

to recharge them, The batteriesshould only be removed if they nolonger recharge and you plan to dis-pose of the cleaner,

Remove battery pack from unit, Todisconnect battery pack from termi-nal, push down on tab (C) and pullconnector (D) straight out,

Dispose of battery pack in accordancewith your state's laws,

Battery pack replacement shouldbe done only by an authorizedHoover Service Representative.Contact your local Hoover Salesand Service Center.
