Doctoris Honoris Causa President John Endicott was awarded the Honorary Doctorate from the University of Toulouse, France recognizing his service to the development of peace strategy within Northeast Asia. As President of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, he investigated the complex situation within the region and he established ‘The Limited Nuclear Weapon Free Zone for the Northeast Asia’ in 1991. Since then he has been contributing to development of a nuclear-free zone and reduction of nuclear power of Northeast Asia. To date Mauno Koivisto, the ninth President of Finland, and Václav Havel who is the first President of the Czech Republic have been the only persons awarded Honorary Doctorates from University of Toulouse. Dr. John Endicott is the third recipient of the Honorary Doctorate from this university.
