Citizens’ Committee for Children of New York
Ensuring that every child is healthy, housed, educated, and safe.
Since our founding in 1944, CCC has paired professional staff experts with citizenvolunteers to document the facts, educate the community, and advocate forchange. This approach to child advocacy is unique, fact-based, and combines thebest features of public policy research with a tradition of citizen activism.
Our work focuses on identifying the causes and effects of vulnerability and risk;recommending solutions to issues children and their families face; and makingcertain that public policies, legislation, budgets, programs and services are respon-sive to the needs of children. We advance recommendations that are designed toeffectively eliminate barriers, combat disparities, and create opportunities, so thatit is possible for all children to grow into adulthood ready to meet the demands ofsociety and fully engage in the 21st century economy.
By casting light on the facts, fueling civic discourse and engaging adversariesand allies in building solutions, CCC mobilizes New Yorkers to get elected andappointed officials to listen, to act, and to make New York City a better place forchildren.
Our work aims to:
• Increase Opportunities for Achievement and Success• Prevent Child and Family Crisis and Displacement• Shore Up the Safety Net for Children and Families• Enhance the Well-Being and Quality of Life of Children• Advance Policies that Support Working Families

Jennifer Bartlett’s process-oriented works have defined herdistinct and shifting style. Her systematic process is the foun-dation of her practice. The mystery of her non-romanticizedsubject matter, such as houses, statues, and strangely familiarlandscapes, invite the viewer into an elusive narrative. Attimes busy and hectic, and others calm and meditative,Bartlett consistently refers to the grid.
Bartlett received her B.A. from Mills College in Oakland,California in 1963, and her B.F.A. and M.F.A from YaleUniversity School of Art and Architecture in 1964 and 1965.
She has shown with numerous galleries both nationally andinternationally. Her most recent exhibition in New York Citywas at The Pace Gallery in 2011. Notable commissions includeHoman-ji Temple Ceiling, Choshi-shi Japan; Reagan NationalAirport, Washington D.C.; Volvo Corporation, Goteborg,Sweden. Bartlett has also designed sets and costume for cho-reographer Lucinda Childs and film and theater directorVolker Schlöndorff.
Her work resides within many public collections throughoutthe world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NewYork; the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Tokyo; the Museum ofContemporary Art, Chicago; the Museum of Modern Art,New York; The Tate Gallery, London; and the WhitneyMuseum of American Art, New York.
