Four Parts:1. Library Routines and Methods2. General Library Principles and

Cert for LA

• Entrance Requirements– pass in 5 HKCEE subjects, including English &

Chinese– or equivalent– Priority will be given to those working in libraries

• September – June • Tuesdays 6:30-9:30pm• Fee (2006): $5,150

• Further Study: Dip LIS/BA (LIS)

Diploma in Teacher Librarianship

• To provide school librarians with the professional knowledge and skills on:

– library and information science– analyzing information needs for teachers and

learners– the use of information and learning resource

according to curriculum objectives

• 13 modules to be completed in 2 years

Diploma in Teacher Librarianship

• Entrance Requirements– Have a Teacher Certificate or equivalent

qualification and a minimum of two years teaching experience

– *Newly appointed Teacher Librarians, Serving Teacher Librarians or Subject Teachers

– Supporting document certifying the applicant is a Teacher Librarian will be an advantage.

Note: All New Teacher Librarians should apply through the EMB Training Calendar.

Diploma in Teacher Librarianship

• Commencing Oct/Nov 2006• 3 to 6 hours per week• Full time on Tuesdays and Saturdays and in weekday e

venings• Fee (2006):

Year 1 $10,000 and Year 2 $10,000

• Further Study: BA (LIS) / MAS (LIM)

• Information seminar: 20 Sept 2006 (Wed) 7-9pm [Rm S202, 2/F, Admiralty Centre]

Higher Diploma for Library and Information Studies

• a full-time course for Form 5 / Form 7 graduates

• under the SPACE Community College• vocational, sub-professional training• library and information support staff in

libraries, information agencies and organizations

HD for LIS

• A Full-time programme
