JJ514 PROJECT 1 PRESENTATION

Automatic Honey Extractor

Page 2: honey extractor

INTRODUCTION• We are propose to make the Automatic Honey

Extractor Machine, we are work very hard to prepare this Automatic Honey Extractor machine with various germinated the idea of my own group members.

• This machine uses the principle of centrifugal force to release the honey from the honeycomb.

• The Automated Honey Extractor is meant to increase the number of hobbyist beekeepers and small beekeeping businesses and as a result stimulate the globally decreasing population of honeybees which play an indispensable role in agriculture (honeybees play a major role in pollinating crops) and more.

Automatic honey extractor

Sooner or later even a hobbyist beekeeper will consider the purchase of a honey extractor. These gadgets are well worth the investment. before I realized the a manual extractor is a real bottle neck when harvesting honey, particularly if you have - or think you might have - more than a couple of hives. honey extractor stand can be inexpensively built in your work shop in just a few hours and it will give good service.

OBJECTIVE

• Design and build a high performance automated honey extractor.

• Optimize and decrease time consumption of the honey extraction process.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Waste of time by using manual method.

More time consuming on manual method is total loss of our valuable time. If the workers unable to brush the bees as soon as possible of the comb, it can attack the workers

Occur error due to human.

Manual extracting is difficult when the honey comb is full of bees. Sometimes the workers are not giving much important on their safety. They are not wearing the smoke during take the honey comb from the trees. And also they can injure their hand when removing the cap by using hot knife or electronic knife.

PROJECT SCOPE

The size of the honey holder is 20”x17”. The honey holder can hold about 2.5kg of

honey. The motor used is electrical DC motor. The minimum and maximum rotation

spinning speed of the motor is 900-1100 RPM.

Advantage

Maintenance It is an economical system that

requires very less maintenance as compared to conventional system as it has no complicated circuits and delicate mechanisms. This saves the additional maintenance costIt does no need a special place for uncapping and extracting, and also for the corresponding implements

Page 8: honey extractor

Cost

The advantage of the automatic honey extractor is it has very low cost than the conventional one available in markets.

It cost around RM700.

Construction

The construction of a automatic honey extractor is very simple as it requires only a few components. The circuit involved is also relatively simpler.

A literature review must do these things: Be organized around and related directly

to the thesis or research question we are developing.

Synthesize results into a summary of what is and is not known.

Identify areas of controversy in the literature.

Formulate questions that need further research

Bearing

A bearing is a machine element that constrains relative motion to only the desired motion, and reduces friction between moving parts.

Page 12: honey extractor

Spinning Mechanism

The spinning mechanism, drives the rotation of the frame basket and honey combs. The motion is transferred to the basket through a belt drive and friction-disk drive to convert horizontal to vertical rotation.

Honey Extractor Stand

The stand consist of 4 steel and end of each of the are bend for more stablelity.

Gear

Advantage of gears is that the teeth of a gear prevent slippage. When two gears mesh, and one gear is bigger than the other (even though the size of the teeth must match), a mechanical advantage is produced, with the rotational speeds and the torques of the two gears differing in an inverse relationship.

Page 15: honey extractor

Flexible shafts

Flexible shafts are made of layers of high-tensile wire wound over each other at opposing pitch angles. When torque is applied to the flexible shaft, the wire layers expand or contract depending on the direction of the rotation.

Flexible shafts are mechanical power-transmission devices used to transmit rotary motion through bends and curves.
