In addition, if you have an update for your “Emergency Contact” please let the office know. Please remember that your vehicles should be parked in your driveways. Any parking at the clubhouse or pool area overnight should be reported to office beforehand. If you are at the pool and don’t recognize visitors, just ask to see their “pool pass”. If they don’t belong at Grand Valley, just politely explain that our pool is for residents and our guests only, and ask them to leave. All residents should have a “pool pass” and have their guests take them to the pool when not with a resident. Red Hats Movie Day Red Hats Movie Day will be the third Thursday of June (the 18th). The new pavilion is being built by the pool area for all to use. We hope to see everybody back in the fall. The board wishes all a happy and safe summer. We have made a change with the Grand Valley Grapevine. First I would like to thank Walda Pagucci for her time as editor of the newsletter, but as we move forward, Gene Brooks will become the new editor of the Grand Valley Grapevine. So please e-mail or deliver all articles for the grapevine to Gene. Scam Alert It has been reported that residents of the park are receiving phone calls that the “Home Owners Association/Park Owners” are requiring that you have your roof inspected. Again, this is another scam you are being made aware of. The Home Owners Association nor the Owners of the Park can require you to have your roof inspected.

Scam Alert It has come to our attention that there have been text message phishing attacks (also known as SMiShing), in our local area, which has included both members and non-members. This text message provides a link to a page resembling an Achieva web page, and requests personal information including account numbers, credit/debit card numbers, social security information, and more. The message may state:

“Master-Card-Debit Card BLOCKED.”

DO NOT CLICK ON THIS MESSAGE.

If you received this text message your best defense is to delete it. Once deleted, no

further action is required. If you have

entered your personal information, Please visit a branch of your bank near you to review your accounts.

Our Troops Times are tough, but please don’t forget our troops – they deserve all the support we can give them and more. Keep your donations coming. See the box in the clubhouse. Please give cash donations to Sis Pickles or Pat Blake for postage.

Men’s Lunch The Men’s Luncheon will be on June 9th at 12:30 at Wing House New Port Richey on U.S. 19. There is a sign-up sheet in the clubhouse. Please sign up if you plan to attend so that we will be able to let Wing House know how many to expect. If you need a ride, call Frank Messina @ 848-9071

Ladies Lunch Had a great turnout for Rusty Bellies in Tarpon Springs. We had about 30 girls and the food and service was really good. Next month June 9th, 2015 at 1 pm, will be at the Crab Shack on the Cote River. Hope everyone will be able to make it. Can Tabs for Shriners Hospital

Keeping CAN TABS is a great way to help the children in any of the Shriners Hospitals and at the same time promote recycling. Please continue to turn your tabs in to Al Krueger at 8045 Monitor or Connie in the office.

Thick ‘N Thin Our group meets every Tuesday morning from 11 – 12 at the clubhouse to promote healthy eating habits and lifestyle. We begin with a short meeting where we share ideas, stories, recipes and more. Then, if weight loss is your goal, a scale is provided for a private weigh-in. This is then followed by a period of exercise using the TV and DVD player. Come join us for an hour of good information and great fun. For more info call Carol McKenna 645-6185

Tuesday Cocktail Party

Tuesday afternoon cocktail party at the pool. All residents are invited with their guests. Bring your own beverage and snack to share, it’s advisable to keep a chair in your trunk just in case. For more info call Dennis Hayward 860-748-6932

1st ANNUAL BOARD OF DRIECTORS

COOKOUT The First Annual Board of Directors cookout will be July 4th at 12 noon. The menu includes steak, shrimp, corn on the cob and watermelon. This event is FREE to all members in good standing and $3 for non-members and guests. Bring your own beverage and a salad or dessert to share. Tickets are available from Connie Cote. ABSOLUTELY NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AFTER 4:30PM JUNE 26TH.
