• Customer contacts MSAmanufacturer’s representative orauthorized distributor to inquireabout rental program.

• MSA conducts informationalcustomer visit to assess customerrequirements. An initial sitesurvey is performed for customerdetermination of the location,quantity and type of threatdetection desired. Site surveyalso includes radio signal testingand completion of the HomelandSecurity Equipment RentalProgram worksheet.

• The Homeland SecurityEquipment Rental Programworksheet is evaluated by MSAfor determination of systemhardware components andrequired man-hours.

• MSA prepares rental agreementproposal package, includingrental agreement and customer quotation.

• If proposal results in a rental agreement order, MSA and customer schedule the rental event.

• The rental agreement with purchase order is signed and returned to MSA.

SAFESITE System - 12-point system

The SAFESITE® Multi-Threat DetectionSystem monitors, detects, andcommunicates the presence of up tosix potential threats including CWAs,gamma radiation,volatile organiccompounds(VOCs), TICs,combustiblegases, andoxygendeficiency - all within awireless network.This system consists of two maincomponents, the SAFEMTX™

Multi-Threat Detector and theSAFECOM™ Command Center, and isdeployed as a portable system.

• LCD display provides all six threat readings.

• Keypad offers alarm acknowledge,sensor calibration, and system-setting configuration.

• Interchangeable smart-sensors allow for quick change-out of pre-calibrated sensors.

• Two miles of wireless communicationare possible between any SAFEMTXDetector and SAFECOM CommandCenter with SAFECONFIG software.

• Wireless distance can be increaseddramatically by setting up tworepeaters per system.

• Units can be remotely put to sleep and powered on offeringflexibility during deployment.

Each of the 12 SAFEMTX Detectorsincluded in MSA’s rental program has anintegrated surface acoustic wave (SAW)sensor for detection of nerve and blisteragents and a cadmium zinc telluride(CZT) sensor for gamma radiation. In addition, each SAFEMTX Detector hasfour sensor slots available for detectionof TICs, VOCs, combustible gases, andoxygen content. Refer to table for sensor choices.

SAFECONNECT Belt-Bridge with SiriusMultigas Detector PID Wireless Link -two included in the rental program

The SAFECONNECT Belt-Bridge workswith the Sirius Multigas Detector forintegration into the SAFESITE Multi-Threat Detection System. Thesecomponents and the SAFECOMCommand Center provide all mission-critical information in oneuncomplicated format.

• Sirius Wireless Interface’s IR linkgathers information from the SiriusMultigas Detector and sendsinformation to the SAFECONNECTBelt-Bridge via Bluetooth technology.

• System offers up to two miles of wireless communication plus an updated Graphical User Interface (GUI).

• SAFECONNECT Belt-Bridge convertsthe Sirius Multigas Detector’s signaland transmits the information plusGPS location to the SAFECOMCommand Center via a 1 watt, spread-spectrum, frequency-hopping, 900MHz radio.

• SAFECOM Command Center receives 900 MHz signal from theSAFECONNECT Belt-Bridge,converting it to practical information

for rapid decision making. The SAFESITE System displayssimultaneous information fromSAFEMTX Detectors and the Sirius Multigas Detector for complete coverage.

HAZMATCAD Plus Detector - two unitsincluded in the rental program

The HAZMATCAD Plus Chemical AgentDetector detects CWAs and selectedTICs by combining two proven detectiontechnologies: a SAW sensor array andan electrochemical cell array. Designedfor one-handed operation, this portableinstrument offers easy operation andrequires little training.

Sirius Multigas Detector with PID - twounits included in the rental program

The Sirius Multigas Detector with PID is a portable instrument thatsimultaneously detects VOCs,combustible gases, toxic gases, andoxygen-deficiency. MSA’s proprietaryPID sensor offers excellent performancefor humidity resistance, stable zeroreadings, and fast response/clear times,delivering swift, dependable results.
