It Is an excItIng tIme for HomefIelds.Due to some luck and imagination, wewere able to purchase a neighboringproperty. This will increase the arm rom6 to nearly 15 acres. It is a beautiul atarm with a wonderul view.It was a public auction and

there was a time when itseemed that we might notget it but when the gavelell, it was ours.

Now comes the hardworkwe have to pay orit. Goodwill Industries andCommunity Services Groupstepped up with some con-tributions that made thepurchase possible. It wasenough or the bank to bewilling to lend us the money.However, we will still have asizeable mortgage and wewill need public supportin order to hold onto the

property. We are discussing a capitalundraising campaign so you might beseeing inormation relating to that.

Its been said that the only thing in liethat doesnt change is death and taxes.

Although change is inevi-table, how we approach it

and handle it makes allthe dierence in the world.Currently, changes are oc-curring at Homefelds. Wehave cut down trees, dugup old ower gardens andweeded the bank alongLetort Rd. Weve cleanedthe ofce with help romvolunteers and the UnitedWay Day o Caring. When Ilook at the property, theresmore work to be done.Weeds have overtakensome areas and theressome more cosmetic stuto be done. By next sum-

mer, I hope Homefeldslandscaping will be maga-zine worthy.

On another issue, we arelooking or board members.Currently we have a ewopenings and we are seek-ing out individuals to helpHomefelds achieve itsgoals. Serving on the boardis a ulflling experienceand one I would recom-mend without hesitation.We meet once a monthand you serve or just threeyears (unless you want to

remain on the board). I
