that makes them truly uniquein the world o the prot-taking big
busi-ness we are accustomed to.People who are associatedwith
non-prots have a pas-sion or what they do. Theysee a bigger picture
andwork to achieve goals thatbenet a group o peopleor individuals
who need itmost. Though money in thebank is wonderul, thats notthe
drive behind their e-orts. Its what needs to bedone and what
resources are needed toachieve it. Oten, that means seeking outhelp
rom others who might have moreknowledge or can oer their time and
at-tributes to achieve those goals. Luckily,there are people who
will step up to thechallenge and oer their time, money ormaybe just
a new perspective on how tolook at things. No matter what, it
reallycomes down to helping your ellow manin their lies
journey.
When I sit at the table with the Boardo Directors o Homeelds, I
see thatpassion, that willingness to give othemselves and most o
all the caringo what they do and who it benets.I walk away with a
eeling o I wish I
could do more, give moreand be more. To be part oa non-prot is
to realize thatthere is something biggerthan you and those who
arein need benet rom theeorts you put orth. Fromany chair in the
Homeeldsoce, you either see thegardens or you see thehouses or the
residentsor you overlook the other
board members. All o it is beautiul;the rich Lancaster County
armland thatsupports the eorts o Goodwill andtheir vocational
program, the caring andnurturing provided by the CommunityService
Groups sta in the residentshouses and the diverse members o
theBoard, who meet once a month in thetrue essence o volunteerism
