Nil Satis Nisi Optimum - Nothing but the Best CLIFTON HUNTER HIGH SCHOOL 15th December 2014 Dear Parents, Students and Teachers of Lady Slater Academy, It is with great pleasure that I review our first term of our third year at our Clifton Hunter site where staff and students have worked together with considerable, effort and enthusiasm to enable a very positive and productive start to the 2014-15 Academic year. Many thanks need to be expressed to our Lady Slater staff that have worked diligently throughout the term to support our students not only in their day to day lessons but also in a number of other initiatives and experiences. We welcome Ms. Villence Buchanan our Teaching and Learning Coordinator, Ms. Kimoy Bailey a new Science teacher to Lady Slater and congratulate Mrs. Edmonds on the recent birth of her son. Our year 7 students settled very quickly in their new ‘High School’ setting and this was made much easier thanks to the prior visits and ‘taster’ lessons experienced by them during May and June. The support, monitoring and parental communication by the year 7 tutors has also enabled a very smooth transition for our youngest students. Many thanks to our year 7 Lady Slater tutors, Mr. Laing, Ms. Lynch and Ms. Thomas. It was a very positive start to the term with the external examination success experienced by 66 of our CHHS year 9 and 10 students achieving level 2 passes in their early entry summer exams. Twenty one of these students were from Lady Slater, Sabrina Blackwood, Matthea Blair, Rajnea Coley, Dana Douglas, Tajon Ebanks, Jared Greene, Kimberley Greene, and Britiny McLaughlin. Kiara McLaughlin, Jhemelia Miller, Alexander Owen, Abygail Pencille, Johanna Porter, Brooke Seymour, Brian Emmanuel Walters and Shalysa Wright. Special recognition needs to go to 3 of our year 9 students who achieved high passes in their CXC Math exam, Brady-Ann Wilmott, Kimberly Eccleston and Ethan Watler. Extra special recognition needs to go to Marika Scotland who at the start of year 11 was already in the position of having 5 level two high passes – well done Marika! All of this success would not happen without the time, effort and dedication of our staff that support students during their breaks, after school and also in some cases at weekends – thank you!

CLIFTON HUNTER HIGH SCHOOL

Nil Satis Nisi Optimum - Nothing but the Best

15th December 2014

Dear Parents, Students and Teachers of Lady Slater Academy,

It is with great pleasure that I review our first term of our third year at our Clifton Hunter site where staff and students have worked together with considerable, effort and enthusiasm to enable a very positive and productive start to the 2014-15 Academic year.

I am proud of the fundraising success of our students linked to supporting a number of charities, e.g. Diabetes Association, Cancer Society, Food Drive and raising $1000 dollars in one week to support the ALS, Ice Bucket Challenge.
