At Barn to Table we recycle old, locally-sourced barn wood to create beautiful furniture and we considerit a major step forward in improving our world. Our showroomwas born of a passion for restoring the character, sturdiness andenvironmental benefits of reclaimed barn wood into functionaldesign. We respect that since no two board’s weather alike, thetransformation process is intuitive.
We share the process of building your furniture with photos alongthe way, from the barn to the boards, right down to the finished,distinctive product. The final piece is truly crafted just for you.
Why reclaimed wood? We love old barns and wooden structures.The barns we salvage are locally sourced throughout Ontario.We remove the old boards, posts and beams and take them toour shop where we bring them back to life. Our barn wood ispressured washed and kiln dried to purify and stabilize the wood.Our solid wood products have great character and patina withknots, burrs and other unique features. Each piece is custom madeand tells a beautiful story.

While the husband loved the natural look of wood, his wife loved a more modern, contemporary look. So they met halfway and mixed metals and woods throughout.

The owner of this rustic 4,500 square-foot masterpiece was able to drastically open up the space by using timber frame (or post and beam) construction.
The home is divided into two sides with the custom kitchen built right in the middle, directly over the foyer. The formal dining space is open to the living room with cathedral ceilings and great views of the mountains. The owners joke that they can check out ski conditions from home without having to venture outside first.

According to Currie, thesewere all great characteristics for their newest venture. And,for fans of the 1970s TV series Sanford and Son starring RedFoxx, the name Red Fox Kitsune seemed a fitting homage.
Combining Akiko’s architectural talents with the Currie’scombined passions for design, fun and all things interesting,Red Fox Kitsune became home to an eclectic array ofbeautiful, unusual, and inspirational surroundings for thehome or office. Although her Asian roots have clearlyinfluenced her style, as evidenced by some of the décor, suchas the sliding barn door with charred wood design, she isquick to point out she finds inspiration everywhere. Between those two points, Wes can often be found onsite, working side by side with his team and overseeing theproject, including dealing with the skilled trades people, toensure it is on track, both financially and time-wise.
Some of their new products include recycled tire shinglesand shakes, along with their IFC – doing their part to leave agreener footprint. Whenever possible, they also use local subtrades to work hand in hand with their crew.
