Alternative Programs (Bridges,

The enclosed Annual Report meets the requirement of Section 5/3-5 of the Illinois School Code and details
accomplishments of the Regional Office of Education #11and its Associated Programs for the 2017-2018 School Year.
Our Regional Office plays an integral part in the delivery of services to 24 public school districts and the private/
parochial schools in Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Moultrie and Shelby Counties.
Yearly, our ROE Office meets the mandates entrusted to us by the Illinois State Board of Education and the citizens of
Illinois. The regulatory functions required by the Illinois School Code are met annually through compliance and
Health Life Safety visits with our school districts.
Staff inservice training and school improvement activities are conducted through workshops and conferences. These
are planned based on the needs identified by our districts. This year we partnered with Rotary International in
providing five days of intensive training as a response to ongoing concerns about traumatized students and safety in
social workers, counselors and administrators, including nine educators from Jamaica. It was a thrilling and thought
provoking experience that will lead to better relationships in our schools through the use of restorative practices and
implementation of social emotional learning standards.
Additionally, Kyle and I wish to thank our county boards, Regional Board of School Trustees, Professional
Development Advisory Board, parents, educators, and support staff who all work together to do what is best for our
children. Our ROE #11 communities are
fortunate to live where there is unwavering
dedication and exemplary support to
providing quality education for all.
Yours for Exceptional Schools,
Bobbi Mattingly, PhD
Regional Superintendent of Schools
