For the fifth year in a row, Joshua Creek Ranch (www.joshuacreek.com ) hosted Tom Brooks, Sr. and Tom Brooks, Jr. for their annual visit to the Texas Hill Country for Axis Deer hunting. Residing in East Texas with roots in the oil & gas and petrochemical business, the Brooks men look forward to this father-son adventure at Joshua Creek Ranch every fall. “Joshua Creek Ranch is beautiful place in the Hill Country where we can come to relax and get away for a few days. It’s not just about the hunting – the food is great, the lodging is first-class and the whole atmosphere is an experience we look forward to all year long,” remarked Tom Brooks, Jr. Tom Brooks, Sr. (90), a World War II veteran, has been retired from Gulf Oil for 32 years and cherishes every moment he spends with his son enjoying the outdoors in this beautiful setting. “I called my daughter last night when I was sitting on the back porch of our guest house and told her I could see for miles and the view was unbelievable. I could never get tired of the scenery out here,” said the elder Mr. Brooks. “It’s also really neat to hear about the history behind the Ranch and surrounding areas from the guides when we go out to hunt.” The guides at Joshua Creek Ranch enjoy hosting the Brooks men and have built up quite a relationship with them over the last five years. “They have really become like family to us and it’s great to see them spend this quality time together each year,” added Jesse Grace, Gamekeeper and Guide at Joshua Creek Ranch.

Deer Hunt

Boerne, TX: In Texas, it is certainly not uncommon for fathers and sons to hunt together, but it’s not very often that you meet a duo who’ve been doing it for more than 60 years. For the fifth year in a row, Joshua Creek Ranch (www.joshuacreek.com) hosted Tom Brooks, Sr. and Tom Brooks, Jr. for their annual visit to the Texas Hill Country for Axis Deer hunting.

Brooks. “It’s also really neat to hear about the history behind the Ranch and surrounding areas from the guides when we go out to hunt.”

The guides at Joshua Creek Ranch enjoy hosting the Brooks men and have built up quite a relationship with them over the last five years. “They have really become like family to us and it’s great to see them spend this quality time together each year,” added Jesse Grace, Gamekeeper and Guide at Joshua Creek Ranch.

The avid hunters and outdoorsmen primarily hunt Axis Deer at Joshua Creek Ranch. This year, both men were able to harvest a nice buck and doe on their visit and they’re already talking about next year. “As long as I can get up and around, I will definitely be back next year,” promised Tom Sr.
