Value chain
Chip design is a major part of added value in the
semiconductor manufacturing process.
But as more MIPS are added and application is becoming
more complex, SW development is playing major role in
design cycle.

Profits and the value chain
If the IC vendors can not create a design cycle that is shorter
than the one driving CE OEMs, they will be following
- asopposed to driving innovation and likely will be at the tail end
of profits, which will flow to others in the value chain.

Remote User Interface Technology (RUV)
Expected to accelerate the availability of serviceprovider content throughout the connected home.
Helps enable rapid introduction of new features andapplications that typically accompany commercial
content. RVU Signal Flow: Server and Client elements send RUI
commands and responses on command channels asXML strings. On data channels, RUI elements sendbinary or ASCII data, as well as A/V streams, over
HTTP/DTCP-IP.
