Dear friends of God,
Last weekend I shared this prayer before Mass. I think that it is fitting to share it in our bulletin as
we move forward in this difficult moment in prayer and care for each other.
A Coronavirus Prayer
Jesus Christ, you traveled through towns and villages “curing every disease and illness.” At
your command, the sick were made well. Come to our aid now, in the midst of the global
spread of the coronavirus, that we may experience your healing love.
Heal those who are sick with the virus. May they regain their strength and health through
quality medical care.
Heal us from our fear, which prevents nations from working together and neighbors from
helping one another.
Heal us from our pride, which can make us claim invulnerability to a disease that knows no
borders.
Jesus Christ, healer of all, stay by our side in this time of uncertainty and sorrow.
Be with those who have died from the virus. May they be at rest with you in your eternal
peace.
Be with the families of those who are sick or have died. As they worry and grieve, defend
them from illness and despair. May they know your peace.
Be with the doctors, nurses, researchers and all medical professionals who seek to heal and
help those affected and who put themselves at risk in the process. May they know your
protection and peace.
Be with the leaders of all nations. Give them the foresight to act with charity and true concern
for the well-being of the people they are meant to serve. Give them the wisdom to invest in
long-term solutions that will help prepare for or prevent future outbreaks. May they know your
peace, as they work together to achieve it on earth.
Whether we are home or abroad, surrounded by many people suffering from this illness or
only a few, Jesus Christ, stay with us as we endure and mourn, persist and prepare. In place
of our anxiety, give us your peace.
Jesus Christ, heal us.

FOLLOWING JESUS-LENT 2020
How can you follow Jesus? Listen in your heart.
Hear how God loves you.
Some of us live in the country and some in the city.
Jesus loved both. Walk around your house and
remember: Jesus loves this place and all who live
there.
CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES COLLECTION
This week, we take up The Catholic Relief
Services Collection. Funds from this collection
provide food to the hungry, support displaced
refugees, and bring Christ’s love and mercy to all
people here and abroad. Please give generously
to the CRSC and help Jesus in disguise. Learn

Window cleaning
by James Roose-Evans
Church prayers usually end with the phrase,
‘Through Jesus Christ Our Lord’, and there is a
sense in which the man Jesus is like a window
through which we see beyond to that ultimate
reality – the force, the energy, that holds the
entire universe together. In the same way, each
of us, whether we are Buddhist, Christian or
Muslim can be like windows reflecting something
that lies beyond. But we need to keep our
windows clean! One way is through the practice
of meditation. As Elizabeth Mills writes in her
book In The Stillness:
We need to be open
For the Divine
To enter in
Not too full of self
That there is no room
Making space
By being humble
And seeking to live in Simplicity
Asking for Love to flow in
And make its Home
In the centre of our hearts.
In other words we need to learn how to step aside
to let the light through!

HOLY TRINITY NEWS
FOURTH WEEK OF LENT
Lord Jesus, you healed the blind man on the Sabbath! You showed us that God’s love is not limited by
laws and regulations. Help us to see beyond the darkness imposed by our own rules and religious
structures. Liberate us from the blindness that clouds our relationship with God and distances us from our
sisters and brothers. You are the Light of the World! Amen
EDUCATION/FAITH FORMATION Family Talk Time Celebrating Sunday for Catholic Families -Sara McGinnis Lee What might it be like not to physically see? What might it be like not to recognize God’s presence in our lives? How might our lives be different in each of these scenarios? Reflecting on the Word: In today’s Gospel, we are invited to focus on the physical and spiritual aspects of sight and
light. Jesus responds to the prevalent belief of his time that misfortune and disability were the result of sin. He
responds by giving the question a different twist-that through this man’s disability, God’s power will be made known.
God makes himself visible through our lives, through the good or happy occurrences. But sometimes, as with the man
born blind, we come to know God through the challenges we face. God works in us, even dark times, shining a light of
hope and faith and offering healing for body, heart or soul. God not only works in us, but also walks with us through all
the good and the bad.
Living the Word: Are there people in your community whom you fail to notice? Perhaps it is the elderly, the sick or
homebound of your parish, the homeless or those living in precarious financial situations. Do you see Christ in them?
Choose a person or group that you can pray for this week and commit to being present to them, to see and love them
and care for them as tenderly as you would care for Christ.
FAITH FORMATION
Faith formation has been cancelled until April 14.

PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS
O Virgin Mary, we commend to you those who seek to follow your Son as priests, brothers, sisters and
deacons. You know the difficulties, struggles and obstacles they face. Assist them to utter their “yes” to
the divine call as you did at the invitation of the Angel. Draw them near to your heart so they may
understand with you the joy and beauty that awaits when the Lord calls them into His intimacy. Make them
witnesses of His love. Enable them to inspire the Church with their holiness. May your all-powerful
intercession touch the hearts of many that they may respond to the Lord’s call. Amen.
