Its hard to believe that another
school year is just about over.Looking back over the year wehave experienced many out-standing educational, faith, andextra-curricular successes. As aschool we believe that we havemet the spiritual, emotional andintellectual needs of our stu-dents; creating a safe secureenvironment for them to learn.
Behind all of this success arenot only dedicated, energeticteachers, but also parent volun-teers and a School Council whohave given countless hours oftheir free time to help out ourschool. Sincere thanks to eachof you. You are a true gift fromGod, and without you, much ofthis success would not be possi-ble!
To the parents of Holy Trinity,we express our admiration andappreciation for your marvelouscooperation and support, as to-gether we have worked to offerthe best education for each stu-dent entrusted to us. The col-
laboration between homeand school has helped guidethe direction of Holy Trinityand made our school a betterlearning community for all.
As we approach the end ofthe year, our thoughts natu-rally moved towards prepar-ing for exams. We encouragefamilies to start a routine of
review at home and this willultimately help with writingtheir final exams. It is im-portant that students to de-velop effective study habitsand focus on their academiccourses until the end of the
year. You can help out bycreating consistent studytimes at home and reviewingschool material with yourchildren. This will reinforcethe importance of effective
preparation for their finalexams. The important datesfor June, including an examschedule, are included in thenewsletter for your reference.
If your child is not returningto Holy Trinity next year we
would ask that you contactthe office as soon as possibleto let us know. Keeping classsizes low next year dependson having accurate enrol-ment numbers.
Finally, on a personal note Isend you all heartfeltthanks. Holy Trinity in awonderful, faith filled com-
munity and I feel truly privi-leged to have been a part ofit. I have been made to feelso welcome since my firstday and am touched by allthe support I have received. Iam sad to leave but I know
your community will contin-ue to be a wonderful place tolearn and work with Mr. Cel-lini. I would like to wish eve-ryone a safe and wonderfulsummer!
Yours in Christ,
Mr. Ryan Sawula

Mr. Faughts Thoughts
The month of May seems to have flown by in the grade 3/4 classroom. Students have been enjoying the nice weather as they
begin to wrap up their last topics for each of their subjects, and excitement has been building up for our year end field trip to the
Zoo on June 19th.
In Math, the grade 3s have completed all of their program of studies! They will be spending the next month reviewing what they
learned before Christmas to try to clear out some of the cob webs that may be growing over what was learned in the first half of
the year. The grade 4s are also close to wrapping up their program of studies and are currently learning strategies to multiply and
divide up to three digit numbers.
In Science, the grade 3s and 4s are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their butterfly larva, which we will be feeding and caring foras they go through their life cycle and become mature butterflies! We have also investigated how seeds germinate and grow into
mature plants while monitoring and observing a bean seed germinate and grow. Our Science class will reach its climax when we
head to the Zoo to learn more about the life cycles of a variety of exotic animals.
In Language Arts, the grade 3s and 4s completed their final written assessment, in which they wrote a story based on a picture
prompt. It was amazing to see the growth that all of my students demonstrated during this assessment. Excellent job kids! We are
now reviewing and practicing reading comprehension strategies to prepare for the second part of their final assessment on June
11th.
In Physical Education, the grade 3s and 4s have enjoyed going outside to play capture the flag, ball tag, and soccer and have also
become masters of the high jump. For the remainder of the year, we will continue to practice track and field skills and play out-
door games.
Volunteers are a very important
part of Holy Trinity School andcontributes in many ways in mak-
ing us stand out in the communityas a warm and caring place that
makes Christ known to children.
This year the library is making
purchases of books in the volun-teers name. ~Thank-You

"So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old haspassed away; see, everything has become new!" (2 Cor 5.17).This scripture was the first in the Holy Trinity Newsletters to be discussed. It informs about the
transformative power of our faith. As Easter has drawn to a close, Pentecost is an example of
how we are new creations through the Holy Spirit. It is also a challenge to put God first in our
lives and let go of the worldly concerns that distract us from Gods mission.
In just two short years, Holy Trinity has become a community which has lived this scripture. We
have formed and been a faith-filled place. Our school continually makes a positive difference in
the lives of our community at large. I have complete confidence that this will continue.
Studentswork
hard all year anddeserve the
opportunity to be recog-
nized and rewarded fortheir perseverance, dedi-cation and acts of kind-ness. On June 26, HolyTrinity School will hostits awards ceremony at10:00am at the school.
All parents, grandpar-ents and siblings are
welcome to attend thiscelebration of accom-
plishments for gradesPre-K-8.

When the good Lord was creating Fathers he started with a tall frame.
And a female angel nearby said, "What kind of Father is that? If you're going to make children so close to the ground, why
have you put fathers up so high? He won't be able to shoot marbles without kneeling, tuck a child in bed without bending, or
even kiss a child without a lot of stooping."
And God smiled and said, "Yes, but if I make him child size, who would children have to look up to?"
And when God made a Father's hands, they were large and sinewy.
And the angel shook her head sadly and said, "Do you know what you're doing? Large hands are clumsy. They can't manage
diaper pins, small buttons, rubber bands on pony tails or even remove splinters caused by baseball bats."
And God smiled and said, "I know, but they're large enough to hold everything a small boy empties from his pockets at the
end of a day...yet small enough to cup a child's face in his hands."
And then God moulded long, slim legs and broad shoulders.
And the angel nearly had a heart attack. "Boy, this is the end of the week, all right," she clucked. "Do you realize you just
made a Father without a lap? How is he going to pull a child close to him without the kid falling between his legs?"
And God smiled and said, "A mother needs a lap. A father needs strong shoulders to pull a sled, balance a boy on a bicycle,
and hold a sleepy head on the way home from the circus."
God was in the middle of creating two of the largest feet anyone had every seen when the angel could contain herself no
longer.
"That's not fair. Do you honestly think those large boats are going to dig out of bed early in the morning when the baby
cries? Or walk through a small birthday party without crushing at least three of the guests?"
And God smiled and said, "They'll work. You'll see. They'll support a small child who wants to ride a horse to Banbury
Cross, or scare off mice at the summer cabin, or display shoes that will be a challenge to fill."
God worked throughout the night, giving the Father few words, but a firm authoritative voice; eyes that saw everything, but
remained calm and tolerant.
Finally, almost as an afterthought, he added tears.
Then he turned to the angel and said, "Now, are you satisfied that he can love as much as a Mother?"
The angel said nothing more.
