RECOVERY SUNDAY, TODAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH Did you know that 20 million Americans struggle with addictive illnesses? Nine million children live in home with one parent who has an addiction. Addictions to alcohol, drugs, and pornography are among those that require treatment and our prayers. “Jesus said to them, ‘This kind (of demon) cannot be driven out by anything but prayer and fasting.’” (MK 9:29) Please join us in prayer on Recover Sunday.

Crisis Text Line: text HOME to 741 741 Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 800-273-TALK [8255] Suicide Prevention Website with Chat function: https: //suicidepreventionlifeline. org/

“Recovery Sunday” is a reminder of the plight of those dealing with addiction and recovery issues, and those who love and support them on the difficult journey to healing. It is an opportunity to recall the true meaning of freedom, as material abundance and spiritual emptiness too often lead to addictive behaviors. Most importantly, the observance of “Recovery Sunday” is an powerful vehicle for prayer for families and communities in need. May Our Lord bless our efforts to bring hope and healing to persons with addictions and their families.

GENESIS CONTINUED . . . Our Bible Study on the Book of Genesis will resume on Wednesday mornings in the community room, 8:30am to 10:30am beginning October 2nd for six (6) weeks with Mary Flannery. Reserve your spot by calling the Rectory.
