Ava and Jacob Saucier 11th Annual Memorial Scholarship Benefit, Sunday, September 27, 2020
This year, due to COVID 19, the 11th Annual Ava and Jacob Saucier Memorial
Scholarship Benefit will work a little differently. The Jambalaya Benefit will
be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the
Holy Family Parish Hall in Port Allen. We will have a drive through or walk up
pick up of dinners. There will also be some sweets available for purchase.
Dinner tickets must be purchased ahead of time. A form for the number of
tickets needed will be coming home soon.
For the online silent auction, a link will be posted about a week before the
benefit with directions to view items and bid on them.
We hope you can continue to support this incredibly important benefit. The
benefit will help to endow the scholarship. All proceeds will go toward the
scholarship fund. Please help us celebrate Ava and Jacob’s lives and honor
their memory by purchasing tickets for the dinner.
With the start of a new year, we are currently
looking for room moms for each homeroom.
Our room moms help with coordinating events
and tasks throughout the year for our
teachers and students. If you are interested or
have any questions, contact Alyssa Segura.

Informational Corner:
Bus Information
Dear Parents,
Please understand that students that ride the bus may not
have a friend ride home with them under any
circumstances. Students that ride the bus in the afternoon
may not switch buses either to ride home with a friend.
Thank you for your understanding.
Middle School History
Class 6th grade students in Mrs. Crocker’s World
History class began their first chapter
learning about timelines in history. Students
created their own personal timelines in class
reconstructing their own history.
Student ID and Fall Pictures
Each student will be coming home with
the picture day brochure today. There
is also a yellow flier that will come
home as well.
Please complete if you are interested in
purchasing your child’s picture and
return to school tomorrow, Tuesday,
August 18, 2020. Pictures will be
taken on Wednesday.
The weekly school Masses will be open to a minimum of
visitors until further notice. If you wish to see your child
speak at Mass or just want to join our celebration, you may
stand against the wall by the stations of the cross (masked)
OR you may sit in the chapel area (distanced and masked).
If you choose the chapel option, you will still hear the
entire Mass.
Summer Reading Testing Now Available
Dear Parents,
Please remind your
children the last day to
take a summer reading
book test is Friday,
August 28. Per Mrs.
Ashford, the students
do not need an
additional AR test for
the 1st Nine Weeks.
Important Information About Weekly Masses Classes will be going 2 grade
levels at a time – 3rd grade and
above only for the time being in
this order:
7th/8th
5th/6th
3rd/4th
Then begin again with 7th/8th.
Fall Athletic Information
Parents,
We have not received an update from the CSAA, but I wanted to give you an update on where we see our fall sports
season. My coaches and I have talked to many youth and high school coaches from around the area in the last week.
Some leagues have already cancelled and some are attempting to plow forward.
Last week the LHSAA dropped the Phase 4 nomenclature and came out with a plan to play under Phase 3, after a
minimum of two weeks at Phase 3 and a few more qualifiers. They also came out with their guidelines for Phase 3,
which are tough, but workable. We would assume our leagues would adopt something similar, but probably not
exactly the same.
That leaves us with 2 scenarios:
1. Phase 3 begins on time on August 28th. If this happens, we believe we have a shot at playing football, girls
basketball and cross country with signups on Monday evening August 31st and first practices Tuesday
September 8th. Much more information will come out before then about protocols.
2. Phase 2 extended past the end of August. At this point, we believe that the CSAA will cancel fall contact
sports, Football, Girls Basketball. Cross Country may continue.
I wanted to get information out to everyone so that we can plan as best as possible for the coming months.
More information will be passed along as I receive.
God Bless,
Bart Saia
HFS Athletic Director

Morning Carpool Procedures
Parents,
Please be sure to roll down your child’s window and do not have them opening their doors.
Once a temperature is checked and a sticker is given, then students may open the doors to exit
the vehicle.
Afternoon Carpool Hang Tags
We are currently working on the
carpool tag report. Once all data
has been input, we will then
start to print and hand out the
tags to your child’s homeroom
teacher.
In the meantime, please use
your tags from last year or place
the last name of the student on
an 8 ½” x 11” piece of paper and
have it visible in your front
window or on your dashboard.
