Dear Brothers and Sisters, Delivering my homily at all the masses last weekend was one of the toughest preaching assignments I’ve ever had! Those of you who were with us know that as part of my homily I encouraged parishioners to consider how they will support our fundraising efforts for the renovation of the present rectory into a new parish ministry cen-ter. If you were away last weekend, please take a few moments to read or listen to that homily. The text and an audio of the same are available on the parish website (holyfamilyconcord.org) or directly on my blog at https://tinyurl.com/ycaf5man I would be very grateful if you would take the time to read or listen (or listen again!) to what I preached and how I plan to be part of this effort even after I leave Holy Family in late May. I need your help with this campaign. The parish needs your help with this campaign. We all need your help with this campaign. If you haven’t received material about this at home, let us know and we’ll send it to you. Next weekend (Feb 9/10) we will have an opportunity at mass for you to make a pledge. If we all share in this responsibility, we will succeed! Let me share with you what I prayed at the end of last weekend’s preaching: I’ll be visiting my sister and brother-in-law in Colorado the week of February 10, leaving after the 10:30 Mass

that morning. Fr. Isaac El-Fernandes, SJ from Boston College will celebrate the 5:00 mass that evening and the 5:00 mass on Saturday, February 16. I’m scheduled to be back in time for that Mass but have asked Fr. Isaac to

come in case my flight is delayed.

It's been a draining, demanding string of days, but the road ahead's much smoother, Lord, paved with promise of relief... Breathing a sigh of contentment, glancing in my rear view mirror, I came close, so dangerously close, Lord, to giving myself a pat on the back - until I remembered, or more accurately, until I realized that you had been my guide along the way, the source of all my words, the wisdom in my choices, the courage in my weakness, the wind beneath my wings...

I found the way because you led me, I spoke the words that you inspired, your counsel fine-tuned my discretion, your strength enabled and sustained me, your Spirit lifted me above, beyond and deep into the heart of all I had to do and all I prayed I might accomplish... Because you are my guide, Lord, my wisdom, truth and courage, because you are the wind beneath my wings I give you thanks and praise, I give you all the glory! Amen.
