COMMUNITY NEWS

Paper goods may be left at the church entrances every weekend. There isn’t always room in the bulletin to promote this project. So please re-member these donations are welcome any time. Your ongoing support of the Youngwood Food Pantry is always appreciated.

MISSIONARY COOPERATION PLAN 2019

The Sisters of the Infant Jesus (SJI) is a Religious Congregation founded in Zimbabwe. We are a group of of 232 professed mem-bers and 21 in initial formation stages. The sisters work to empower women, children and the vulnerable through education, health care and social work. They are involved in pastoral ministries, teaching and nursing, as cooks, administrators and in pastoral projects ad-dressing the needs of the poor and vulnerable, especially orphaned or handicapped women and children. Zimbabwe’s economy has been in serious decline for 20 years; most organizations and indus-tries have been forced to close. Like other organizations operating in such an environment, the SJI Order struggles to meet its financial obligations due to limited sources of income. The Community is fi-nanced by income from sisters’ salaries and by grants from funding partners when available. This income however, falls short of the costs of running the Order and our commitment to help the poor and vul-nerable in remotest Zimbabwe. Your continued prayers and gener-ous financial contributions will be greatly appreciated. Sr. Maria Rukwishuro SJI will speak at all Masses this weekend. God Bless!
