Angel Intervention

was founded for the purpose of helping those who are watching someone kill

themselves with drugs and/or alcohol be able to confront the

person once and for all resulting in a saved life.

Sometimes this task is tough. Sometimes it means putting off other seemingly pressing demands on a person's time and resources and keep the focus clear and sharp on the addicted person and their

recovery. The only true horror stories I hear and witness are

About me:

Q: What is an intervention? A: An intervention is a prosurvival and

educational process targeted at eliminating the downward spiral of chaos and crisis caused by addiction. The interventionist leads the team in an effort to

move all persons involved out of crisis. The more specific goal here is providing immediate help and relief to the addicted individual.

A: The goal of an intervention is to provide solutions to individuals and families in crisis from addiction and get the addict to reach for help. Making help available to the identified individual is our main objective but, not our only objective. We define success by the number of individuals and families

falls on the person who desperately needed their help. I have seen this in the eyes a mother with no choice to turn back time and I would not wish this on my most hated

enemy. .

Life as I see it is the most amazing thing. I am happy in my skin. The coolest people I know are members of my family. My daughters are absolutely

beautiful little creatures who love and support me like no one in my life ever has. I love my job and I'm so totally in love with life sometimes it hurts!

As I rolled out of bed at 3:30 am I staggared to the coffee pot to wake

myself, somewhat, before staggaring to the bath tub for the full wake up call. There are those people who wake up at that hour because they have to go to work even though they might not want to and there are those who wake up at that hour because they appreciate morning, my Mother falls into this

category of people, and there are those of us who rise to shine because we are driven by purpose. I am of the latter group. I am a drug interventionist. I

have dedicated my life to helping those who cannot help themselves. My day starts at 3:30 am, frequently. Having packed the night before, airline ticket in hand, my brother and right hand man drives me to the airport. In the days prior to my departure I have spent hours upon hours on the phone with family members and facilities, making desperate attempts to contact the addict and create a communication line between myself and the person I am trying to help, making arrangements and coordinating and fine tuning the

upcoming intervention. Almost every family I deal with has some sense that I cant do it and I am amazed. Families know their members much better than I and often times believe that there is no way I can get the job done. What families should understand is that I too was an addict and for many, many years of my life I suffered the same fate and my family suffered with me. I step into each family as if I belong there, as if I have known them all my lives and as if this were no other day in the world for them. A comfort level

must be achieved if intervention is to be successful. Depending on my destination, arrive several hours later, deplane, get my luggage and wait for the family. I am continually amazed at the relief on their faces to see me

standing there, ready to help. They embrace me as an old friend and I feel as though there is no higher purpose on the planet. Each family having their

own special story and place in my life from this day forward.

I have read many books about other’s lifes experiences and have learned so much from them. I figured it was time to tell about my own observations so that maybe someone can learn from what I have experienced, good and bad. I have been so many things in my life. A mother, a daughter, a wife, a girlfriend, a fiancé, a bartender, a bodybuilder, a public speaker, a secretary, a sister, a stripper, a drug addict, and a counselor. Probably the most important part of my life came when I over came a severe addiction to methamphetamine and became a drug intervention speicalist. You see, I was an addict but also I have loved an addict. Both of these things will literally rip your life apart. The lies upon lies that a person tells when they are addicted and the lies upon lies a person endures when they love an addict can and will harden a person to truth. It’s staggering to try and comprehend. I’m always surprised when I speak to parents about their loved ones addiction. I hear the lies and I try to communicate to the family which are lies and which are truth but it’s very difficult. I know because I understand the burning desire to believe what a person says.
