Poem Dream Team Mas Band (Trinidad Carnival)

I am the life on the road,I am the band that sets the mode.I am the force to reckon with,That sends forth a good spirit.

I am the vibes for Carnival,I am the carefree bachannal.I am the drinks that flows so free,The non-stop jammin party.

I am the watch to make you safe,I am the music to keep you wake.I am the costume bright as sunThat shows your beauty to everyone.

I am the promise to make it nice,I am the people's paradise.I am the truth, this is no schemeThe band for mas, I am Dream Team.

I Love You Mom! Mom's smiles can brighten any moment,Mom's hugs put joy in all our days,Mom's love will stay with us foreverand touch our lives in precious ways... The values you've taught, the care you've given, and the wonderful love you've shown, have enriched my lifein more ways than I can count. I Love you Mom! Author Unknown

Leila Devlin, Other CountriesPoem Summer Vacation

I remember summer days ofrunning like the wind, and flying like a kite, and hopping like a frogafter swimming like a fish.

I remeber summer days ofhanging like a monkey, and laughing like a hyena, and hooting like an owlafter stretching like a snake.

I remeber summer days ofrising like the sun,and glowing like the moon, and twinkling like the starsafter sleeping like cat.

We are two lovely islandsAt home in the Caribbean Sea.

We have been so richly blessedWith natural resources and beauty.

We boast of oil, our main export,Then there's our famous Pitch Lake,With which the noted Sir Walter Raleigh,The holes in his ships did cake.

Our beaches, rivers and mountainsAre a sight to behold. The weather here is picture perfect,It just never gets too cold.

As you walk along our beaches,Beneath the coconut trees,Experience the warm sand on your toes,And feel the tropical breeze.

Come visit us for our Carnival,Listen to our soca and calypso,The sweet melody of our steelpans,And see us dance the fiery Limbo.

Come experience the warmth of our people,See a smile on each friendly face.Visit the twin isle of Trinidad and Tobago,A most wonderful and welcoming place!

Season of LightsDunes of vapors from crackers rise,Engulf, as odorous airs resoundEffusing joys to all aboundPearls of gleams in these autumn nightsAdorn our lives else triteWith sparklers that motley skiesAs soaring spirits of powder wanderLet us thank the heavenly might,In this festive season of lights.

AKING JACK O' LANTERNS

Just take a golden pumpkin Of quite the largest size,

Cut all 'round the stem, just so,  Scrape out the inside below, And cut two holes for eyes.

And now fix a nose beneath, And such a great big mouth with teeth,

 And you've a jack-o'-lantern!

Then fix a tallow candle,Just big enough to light,

And when it flickers, see him blink, And when it flares up, see him wink

And smile so broad and bright. This is the jolliest sort of a fellow,

With cheery face so round and yellow, This funny jack-o'-lantern.
