Tombstone Hop (Halloween Game)

Format: Teams of two people Equipment Needed: None Setup: Have everyone get in a line with their partner lined up on one side of the training floor. Objective: The first team to make it down to the opposite side of the floor and back to the start line will win. How to Play: When the game begins, one partner will crouch down on the floor to resemble a “tombstone”. The other partner will do 10 jumping jacks and then jump over the crouched partner on the floor. Once they land from the jump, they will crouch down and the other partner will get up, do 10 jumping jacks and jump over. This process will repeat to move the teammates down to one side of the floor and then they will turn around and repeat the process to reach the starting line. The first team to get back to their starting line will win the race. Reindeer Tag (Christmas Game) Format: One person (tagger) versus everyone Equipment Needed: None Setup: Designate one person to be “Santa” aka the tagger and have everyone else spread out across the floor. Objective: The last person standing wins. How to Play: When the game begins, the person who is the tagger will run around and try to tag people.

As people are tagged they will have to hold onto Santa or the people attached to Santa. This will resemble a sleight of reindeer.

The last person standing who hasn't been tagged (isn't part of the sleigh) will win.

Repeat this game up to 4 minutes using different taggers.

Cupid’s Revenge (Valentine’s Day Game)

Format: Everyone as a team Equipment Needed: Valentine’s Cards and a Card Box Setup: Have everyone write two exercises on a Valentine’s Day card and then place them in the card box. Objective: Everyone has to complete all of the exercises How to Play: When the game begins, the instructor will randomly draw out valentine’s cards and read the exercises on the card.

Everyone will have to do 10 reps of every exercise the instructor says.

After the members have completed the exercises then, they will discard the card in a pile and draw the next card.

Play this game until all of the cards have been drawn out of the card box.

Note: to make a little more fun have the members put their names on the cards so they know who chose each exercise !

Last Leprechaun Standing (St. Patrick’s Day Game)

Format: Everyone versus everyone Equipment Needed: None Setup: Have everyone spread out around the training floor. Objective: The last person standing wins. How to Play: When the game begins, everyone will start to move around the floor by hopping around with their feet together.

Everyone is “it” in this game of “tag”.

Everyone will be trying to tag someone. If they tag someone, the person they tagged has to go wait on the sidelines and do body weight squats until the game is over.

The last person standing who has not been tagged will win.

To make this more “holiday themed” I usually get some fake gold coins and award the winner a “pot of gold”. Then I take a picture of them and post it to face book for fun !

Turkey Hockey (Thanksgiving Game)

Format: 2 even teams of people. Supplies Needed: One tennis ball, four orange cones. How to Begin: Make a goal using orange cones. Space them about “3 big steps” apart. Everyone must play this game from a Duck Walk. Objective: The person with the most points at the end of 5-10 minutes wins. Rules: To start, everyone must be standing on both knees. Have each team select a goalie to protect the goal. Then, pick someone from each team to start the “faceoff”. When each team is spread out on their sides, you will drop the ball between the two people taking the “faceoff”. This will start the game. Each team must use only their hands to pass the ball to their teammates trying to get it into the goal of the opposite team. EVERYONE MUST STAY IN TURKEY WALK POSITION FOR THE DURATION OF THE GAME.

Every time a team scores by getting the ball into the opposite teams goal, they are rewarded with one point. At the end of the time period the team with the most points wins. NO THROWING THE BALL. The ball can only be slapped with an open hand. No grabbing or lifting the ball either. Remember, their hands are acting like “Hockey Sticks”.

When they are all discovered, have everyone tally up how many eggs they have. The person with the most eggs will get immunity for 1 exercise. When you crown the winner, you will then tell everyone to open their eggs. One at a time pick one person to read off their exercises and everyone (including th person reading) has to do them as they are read out loud. The person with the most eggs can choose whatever exercise they don’t feel like doing. Repeat this until all of the exercises are read out loud and completed by everyone. Note: DO NOT tell them what is in the eggs just have them collect them in the beginning. Independent Chain (Independence Day Game)

Format: Everyone versus everyone Equipment Needed: None Setup: Have everyone line up in a single file line on one end of the floor. Objective: The last person standing will win. meaning it has to be a different exercise. Everyone will do 5 reps of that exercise and the process will continue until it has reached the end of the line and then it will repeat until the last person is standing. If someone calls out a duplicate exercise then they are eliminated and will wait on the sideline in a squat position. The last person standing who has not said a duplicate exercise will win. Box Up Workouts (Boxing Day Game)

Format: 3 even teams of people Equipment Needed: Pieces of paper and pens Setup: Before the game starts write one exercise on each piece of paper and fold them up. Format: Everyone as a team Equipment Needed: Paper and pens Setup: Have everyone write their New Year resolution on a piece of paper and then collect all of the papers. Then, have everyone spread out around the floor. Objective: To match the resolutions with the right person so that they don’t have to do a ton of Burpees ;) How to Play: When the game begins, the instructor will read out loud a new years resolution and the group will vote on which person they think wrote it.

The person who wrote it cannot say anything as people are deciding. The group has to get it right before they can move on to the next resolution. Every time they guess wrong, they have to do one burpee. This is a great way to hold each other accountable for following through on their resolutions. Fool Me (April Fools Day Game)

Format: Team of 3-4 people Versus Everyone Equipment Needed: Tennis Ball or something that size Setup: Have everyone spread out across the floor and have the team of 3-4 people start on one side of the floor with one person holding the ball. Objective: The team has to get the ball to the opposite side of the floor. How to Play: When the game starts, the team with the ball will run toward the opposite end of the floor. The person holding the ball will have to try to “fool” the other opponents with fancy foot work so that they do not get tagged. If the person with the ball is going to get tagged they can toss the ball to their teammates and they can run it for them. If the person with the ball gets tagged they must start back at the starting line. Each team has 3 minutes to complete the challenge. If not then, make a new team of 3-4 people and have them try. The first team to get the ball to the opposite side of the floor will win. Shake What Your Mama Gave Ya (Mother’s Day Game)

Format: Tagger(s) versus everyone. Equipment Needed: None Setup: Have everyone spread out across the floor and the tagger(s) start on one side of the floor. Objective: The tagger(s) must tag everyone in the time limit.

How to Play: When the game starts the tagger(s) is going to run around the floor and tag people. When they tag someone, the person who is tagged must shake their body in place until someone unfreezes them by tagging them. Once tagged, they can stop shaking and begin running again. By the end of the time limit if everyone is shaking their bodies in place the tagger wins. If not switch taggers and try again. Dad Can Fix It (Father’s Day Game)

Format: Tagger(s) versus everyone. Equipment Needed: None Setup: Have everyone spread out across the floor and the tagger(s) start on one side of the floor. Objective: The tagger(s) must tag everyone in the time limit. How to Play: When the game starts, the tagger(s) will run around and tag people. When someone is tagged they have to sit on the floor until someone “fixes” them. To “fix” them, someone must do 5 jumping jacks in front of them and then tag them. Once they are tagged they can run around again. If the taggers have tagged everyone before the end of time then they win. If people are still running around then the people win.
