Bubble braids are my favorite way to wear my hair in winter because they’re fun, unexpected, and so simple. There are lots of variations, but my favorites are two braids with a beanie for a day in the snow, or a glam bubble braid down the back (tied with a ribbon) for a festive party.
Katelyn Rutt
Kate is a DC-based blogger who loves all things beauty, fashion,
lifestyle, and travel. You can always find her reading, making a DIY
skincare mask, exploring her city of DC, or trying a new recipe. As an
inspiring space that expresses what Kate truly loves, her blog is best
described as colorful, feminine, creative, positive, and free-spirited.
Her blog is never short on travel guides, skin care tips, or the latest
fashions (you can shop her looks on
).
Francesca Gariano
As a New York City based fashion, beauty, and lifestyle blogger,
Francesca tackles these topics along with the trials and tribulations
of being in your twenties. She doesn’t hold back as she gracefully
shares the unglamorous parts of her life while injecting a touch of
humor into everything she does! She also gives an up-close and
personal take on skin care, make up, and navigating life in the big
city through her weekly videos.
Red lipstick is the greatest holiday cliché. Stray from matte reds and find a glossy or satin finish to differentiate the shade for the holiday season and use a liquid stain underneath to avoid any gaps in coverage while you’re eating and drinking through your holiday parties.
Priyanka Patel
Priyanka is a twenty-something first-generation Indian American who was
born and raised in California and now based in Kentucky. She discovered her
love for all things beauty about six years ago and since then has researched
and tried a multitude of beauty products to not only educate herself but her
audience, as well. Her empowering blog is a digital space where readers
can find informative content on beauty, lifestyle, and self-care. It is typical to
find reviews, unboxings, recipes, guides, makeup looks, and positive quotes
on Glamour and Giggles! Priyanka encourages a culture of inclusivity and
individuality through her platform as a blogger.
Apply mascara in sections for a more full and voluminous effect! I like to apply mascara in three sections: left, center, and right. It disperses mascara to its full effect and reduces clumping.
Kim Augustine
Kim is a 57-year-old retired nurse with a husband, two adult children,
and two cats based in Kentucky (but her heart will always be in
Florida). She has always loved beauty, fashion, and travel so it
seemed only natural for her to share that love with other people
through her blog. Her site is a guide to life after 50 and she enjoys
sharing with others what she has learned along the way about this
next phase of life and living it to the fullest! And even though her
focus is on life after 50, her blog can apply to life at any age! In fact,
one of the travel portions of her blog chronicles all the different
micro-breweries that they visit, as they love a good craft beer!
Does your hair lose some of its shine and manageability in the colder, drier winter months? Try working a few drops of argan oil through the strands both morning and evening. It absorbs beautifully and gives your hair a healthy shine!
Have under-eye puffiness? Place coffee grounds under your eyes for 15 minutes. It will completely de-puff and brighten things up. Most eye creams contain caffeine for this very reason, but this solution is FREE.
Terra Roisin
Terra, who is based in beautiful Hawaii, started her blog, Fifteen
Minutes to Flawless, years ago to share the time-saving fashion and
beauty tips she’s picked up over the years. She also adds in a dose of
her real-life hopes, dreams, struggles, and triumphs, not only as a single
mom but also as a single woman navigating through the ups and downs
of life, in general. Her blog is very helpful, practical, approachable, and
conversational—just like a big group of friends!
Kylie Kreischer
Kylie is a self-proclaimed style-loving, dress-obsessed, daydreaming
Chicago life and style blogger navigating life in her twenties. She
created Collectively Kylie as a curated journal of inspired style. From
everyday looks and home décor touches to what’s in her makeup
bag, Kylie’s goal is to share glimpses of her heart in ways that help
her community find balance in the beauty of everyday living.
For those of us with oily skin, we definitely know that “slippery slope” of your makeup melting off throughout the day, especially around the T-zone. To keep your foundation locked in place, even on your oiliest spots, first start with a mattifying primer. Then, apply your foundation with a damp beauty sponge, and right after, dip that same sponge into your powder, and press the powder on top of your foundation. This helps to keep it all locked into place.
Wasifa is a dentist turned beauty and lifestyle blogger and social
influencer who has battled a chronic illness for the last 13 years.
Her blog is all about helping women with their everyday troubles
and giving them the best and easiest solutions. She hopes to support
women in all seasons of life, including those days where they feel
less than beautiful and optimistic. She not only shares the struggles
of her own journey with a chronic illness & the physical difficulties
that come with it but how, in spite of it all, she manages to live a
beautiful life. Her blog is a one-stop solution for everyday women
and their skin, makeup, hair, fashion, and wellness concerns.
If you have only a little time to spend on your makeup, use it to focus on a few essential steps that will have the biggest impact. With just 5-10 minutes you can have yourself looking glam.Start by applying foundation and concealer and setting it with a translucent powder. Then, using a blush or bronzer brush, apply bronzer to the skin to warm it up. The best thing about bronzer is that you can use it in place of eyeshadow to bring depth and dimension to the eye area. Using a small fluffy blending brush, apply bronzer to the upper eyelid, focusing on the crease area. Lightly sweep it along your lower lash line, too. Finally, using a highlight brush, apply highlighter to the top of your cheekbones, under your eyebrows, and to the inner corner of your eyes. Finish the look with mascara and your favorite bright lipstick.
Dr. Wasifa Ahmad Hasan
Diane MaryDiane was born and raised in New York City and has been passionate
about beauty for as long as she can remember. She has a loving
husband and a rescue dachshund who she loves to hang with at
the beach. Her blog is filled with honest and detailed beauty
product reviews along with very authentic product review videos.
To help tighten pores and calm inflammation, I like to rub an ice cube on my face twice a day after cleansing. It’s cold, but it is also free and the difference it makes in my complexion is worth it.
The holiday tip our guests value most is to reserve all your holiday appointments in advance. Spending just a few minutes coordinating these details will save you the stress of a last-minute hustle. It’s amazing how quickly this time of year goes by and it’s easy to forget these small details that allow us to focus on ourselves. A holiday party is supposed to be fun. Enhance the experience with a pre-booked reservation as soon as you know the day and time of the event to ensure you look and feel your very best.

Switch it up! My skin care regimen has benefited from my tendency to shake up my routine to make sure my skin is getting what it needs at the time. That could mean incorporating an exfoliator or adding a more emollient-rich moisturizer.
Don’t ditch your sunscreen during the holiday season! Apply your favorite facial sunscreen daily, after your moisturizer, and before applying makeup. UVB rays are weaker in the winter (so you don’t get sunburned as easily), but the UVA rays that cause wrinkles and aging are just as strong throughout the year!

With the weather getting colder, your skin may start feeling drier. To protect your skin, be sure to avoid skin care products with alcohol. Such products put your skin in shock and throw off its pH. For some this means that skin begins to produce extra oil, which can clog pores. For others, it means your skin becomes red and even drier.
Exfoliate your lips weekly. This helps keep dead skin cells from forming on your lips and keeps them healthy and ready for your lipstick application. Some of my favorite lip scrubs are homemade. You can easily make them yourself!
Carolann Iadarola
As a former cosmetologist, it is fair to say that Carolann is
passionate about the beauty industry. She also worked for

reading and spending time with her husband and two children.
Jenni Nagle & Barry Eichner
Jenni and Barry started Lipgloss + Aftershave after seeing a major gap
in the skin care industry; it was lacking a fun, informative place for both
professionals and consumers to learn about skin care treatments and
products. Jenni, an esthetician of 20 years, and Barry, a VP of a chain
of medical spas, combined their experience to form a powerhouse team
that will keep you entertained, educated, and up-to-date on the hottest
treatments and products on the market!
Prep your canvas! It is so important to have exfoliated, healthy, hydrated skin before attempting any holiday look. Foundation will apply flawlessly when skin is properly prepped. Take the time to perform a manual exfoliation to buff away dry flakes and follow with an infusion of plumping peptides & hydrating serums so fine lines and wrinkles are less visible. Healthy skin provides the best holiday glow!

I’m all about smooth, hydrated skin so before bed each night (after my normal skin care routine), I put on a mask mixed with a couple drops of lavender essential oil along with a sticky lip gloss on my lips. For smooth feet, I layer a balm and thick, hydrating hand cream to the soles and cover with socks. I also wear a silk eye mask to sleep. I always wake up feeling refreshed and love how radiant and smooth my skin looks!

I love feeling put together without having to go through the trouble of getting all made up! Once you have your base skin in check with Lexli, the BEST investment you can make to upgrade your look is fake lashes!! Whether you’re looking at lash strips or wanting to invest in lash extensions, this is the easiest way to enhance your look while putting forth minimal effort!
Winter is the time of year when skin is most prone to dryness and we all know that flaky, peeling skin can ruin a great makeup look. The good news is that it’s possible to minimize or even prevent dryness by implementing a few positive habits: 1) Run a cool air humidifier in your bedroom at night while sleeping. 2) Avoid taking hot showers, as high water temperatures increase the loss of moisture from the skin. 3) Apply a thicker moisturizer and body lotion at night. Be sure these products include a high concentration of humectants, which attract moisture to the skin; occlusives, which prevent the loss of moisture; and emollients, that soften the skin. 4) To keep dryness at bay throughout the day, mist skin regularly with a hydrating spray. Such products can be applied over makeup and can even be used to set makeup after applying.
